The Dobyns jig is a great one! I would say it is among the best in the industry. And this is an amzing price.

I dont fish 3/4 or 1 oz jigs a lot. But i still ordered jigs for almost 100usd. At this price it will keep my heavy jig needs covered for a couple of years.

Are the Dobyns jigs good? Is this the deal of the century, $1 jigs?

I bought a couple 3 packs last Black Friday and I think they are pretty good, I caught one of my first fish this year on one matching a craw. I got them for a great price then, but this is even better.

What is the shipping price on them though?

Are they good?  More like awesome. Gammi 604 round bend hooks and the best trailer keeper out there.  Skirts are hand tied.  I have four dozen on the way. Thanks for the heads up!!!! I don’t have Facebook.

Just an FYI, I placed an order at tackle warehouse today and got the email saying it wont be processed until April 9th, so plan accordingly.

I ordered From the Creme web site... Same thing.

Its clear they are absolutely practicing under promising and underdelivering. I placed and order on St. Pattys and their email indicated it would ship today. Still time before the clock strikes midnight but it still hasn't shipped. I was planning on two weeks and really in no hurry.

It would appear they are now saying it will be two weeks to get it out the door. In my case (Michigan) I add another week for transit. Three weeks make you REALLY plan ahead. I bet their average per order is waaaay up and they are likely making a killing on the update expedited fees. Pay to play I guess......

THIS! I called them to cancel as Ill be gone on a trip by then and they said I could pay $15 more and get it Monday. They must have lots of people paying for the expedited shipping and pushing the free/standard shipping further down the list. Makes sense just sucks.

They might be rushing their packaging also. My order had a bottle of JJs magic rolling around out of the package. Large box with a life jacket in it and a few other small items. No filler paper or any measures to keep the items from rolling around.

I bet that was ripe.

It's just like southwest airlines.  Almost everyone pays extra now for the early boarding that even if you check in immediately you are going to end up in the back of the plane.  just pay the extra $5 to expedite the order and be done with it

It's not $5 anymore. I wanted a new net (a $100 one at that) and the expedited fee was like $40 or something. I just chose the free shipping. They showed it as taking 12 days to ship, I told them to cancel the order.

I needed some replacement keitechs and ordered $50 and it was $11 expedited. I paid it and they shipped it the next day.

For those of you who shop at Academy:

Are their sales typically in-store only and by location?...  Or can I look forward to some kind of annual online sale?  Interested in trying some H20 Express stuff.

The best sales are in store and not even published. Best bet is to keep an eye on what you like and scan the item at the price checker from time to time. Ive gotten several rods for over 50% off.

They do have online sales from time to time and sometimes they are quite good ... well they used to be. Ever since the covid hit their fishing clearance items don't appear to be getting updated regularly.

I'm looking to try out a left handed baitcaster before spending a couple hundred on a nice reel (I already have 5 right handers).  Don't want to spend a ton, but also don't want a piece of junk laying around that I'm not going to use.  Any good deals out there?

Look for a Daiwa Fuego CT, excellent reel that can be had on auction sites for about $75.

The Shimano SLX for $99 is also a good choice!  They are excellent reels for the money.

Academy is having a fishing sale and it includes a surprisingly good selection of rods and reels.  They have Tatula SVs for $160.  Unfortunately for me they don't have any lefties.  Good sale on Dobyns rods too.

I'm sitting here drinking coffee wondering if the covid restrictions in CA are slowing up my 3/22 Tacklewarehouse order that they originally predicted to ship on 3/31 (of stuff I really didn't need anytime soon.) Their tracking info says it's been ready to ship for a couple of days.

Then it occurred to me - Did TW ever open that new operation in Georgia? I have a retired cousin in Alpharetta, I should ask him to drive by and ask them.  :)

www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2017/02/23/californias-sports-warehouse-said-to-relocate-hq.html

"The Sports Warehouse family of companies include Tennis Warehouse, Running Warehouse, Tackle Warehouse, Skate Warehouse, Inline Warehouse, Ice Warehouse, Derby Warehouse, Riding Warehouse, Art’s Cyclery, Racquetball Warehouse and Total Pickleball.

Sports Warehouse will locate in a 117,000-square-foot building at 1295 Bluegrass Lakes Parkway, said Robert Long, vice president of economic development at the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce. Sports Warehouse could also acquire adjacent land for future expansion.

The expansion was expected to be announced Feb. 28. " "

I hope it stops raining before I run out of coffee. 1.5" is enough for now. Our temps are dropping below freezing tonight and tomorrow night.

Have some patience with Tackle Warehouse people. It may be taking longer than usual, but they are staying safe.
