Anyone know of some baitcaster deals on amazon

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY40H67/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A3NU6AZPJLBBJ0&th=1&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Zebco-IC101HPT-BX3-Quantum-Baitcast/dp/B01NBQFHMH/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=quantum+icon+pt&qid=1607964195&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-2

I've picked up 4 of these since this past April to use as my Yak reels, but they're so good I use them everywhere now. $120 before being discontinued and discounted. These reels are built like tanks and have remained smooth dragging frogs through muck and cranking up to 3 oz swim baits and wake baits. Do a quick gear lube and oil the spool bearings and you're good to go. Because I'm liking the ICONs I just picked up a Qauntum Vapor PT which is it's replacement. The Vapor's the same reel but with an ultra light spool and CB handle.

This guy uses one. Go to 4:10 mark on video for a close up.

Sweet, you found the link to Sheltons Icon offer. I searched and that one never came up, but a lot of non quantum reels did,  Amazon can be a PIA. I had already ordered one from them for Christmas and was thinking of doing another. The other sellers reviews aren't great and the first one, at least in the pictures from my parents looks really clean. Glad to see it is still there, thanks!

The 1st 2 came from Simmons on the auction site for about the same price plus shipping. @new2BC4bass steered me to the Shelton's deal on amazon. My brother's and my next 2 came from there. Reviews there are what they are. We fish a lot in heavy duty spots.. No issues at all. None. Plus, if you like moon-shotting frogs this reel will put a smile on your face.

I went to their website and ordered there, different ratio to choose from, no tax, free shipping.  I mean, $40 for an Aluminum frame reel with 10 ball bearings, which includes 2 bearings to support the pinion, and 2 NMB Japanese spool bearings(the ones in high-end Shimano and Daiwa reels), this is just too good a deal to pass.  I only ordered one because I already have one.  Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. I found another on Amazon for even less $36.97. They still have a few left.

Yeah, I saw that one, too, but was a little hesitant because of its bad seller rating and reviews. Plus, Amazon charges tax, which would add up the final price to around $40 anyway. And most importantly, I want a 7:1 ratio one.  The Sheltons website has LEFT and RIGHT handed, 6.2 and 7.0 ratio, to choose from. You can use Paypal on their website if not sure.

Thanks. But you failed to mention that with bulk pricing (3+), it drops down to $33.33 at Sheltons! I had to get 7 reels....couldn't help myself.

Not really a sale but now seems to be a great time to buy ebay auctions. I won a Smoke S3 KVD spinning reel for $57 which were selling for around $90 a month ago. Quite a few other auctions last night ended in the same result

I've been putting bids on the baitcasting reels for weeks now and haven't won one for what I want to pay yet.  Was hoping to get lucky with one for around $60 but they always end up being around $100.

Since The middle of summer Ive gotten 4 of these KVD reels from this seller. Ive paid anywhere from 70-90. Still a hell of a deal. Honestly pretty good reels too. Not usually of fan of personal branded stuff but for the money these are good.

Also did anyone order the Dobyns rods during the 25% off sale? When I added to cart and checked out, it said everything was in stock. Still havent received a shipping email. When I called she said they are backordered. Not necessarily in a hurry but curious if anyone actually received their items.

Try Bid Sniper and or wait till the last minute to bid. The last thing you want is to get into a bidding war.

Well I got another 6:3 left handed off of amazon. Had I gotten a normal gift card I may have gone direct from the site, but am happy to get the 2 off of amazon one is a gift from my parents I will see next week that was ordered a while back. This will also help force me to get used to left hand baitcasters now that I have 3. That leaves some cash left to spend on family stuff, win win.

Cool. Once you're comfortable casting and cranking with either hand you'll come to appreciate the flexibility whether you're working from the the bank around trees, or have a co-boater. I still buy lefty reels more, but now I don't hesitate to buy a righty if I feel like it.

P.S. I recommend lightly oiling the brake race, then wipe clean, and dabbing the brake blocks with oil and wipe clean for the first few times out. Crank up the brakes and chuck a heavy bait for a few casts to help seat the blocks. It's not a necessity, but helps to break the system in faster.

As mentioned by Landis Carrier, there are bidding services that will keep you out of last second bidding wars that drive the final price way up. For instance: Not that you need to or should, but you can set a max bid of $100 if that's what you're willing to pay, but end up winning the auction for $45. Regardless of your max bid you'll only pay something like $1 more, or whatever the preset bid increments are, than the next highest bidder. Best of all you can place your bid when the auction starts or before 5 minutes of auction's end, or anytime in between. You don't need to be present when the auction ends either way. The service places your bid with 6 seconds left in the auction. I've used eSnipe for almost 20 years and have saved a fortune. Choosing auctions that end a bit later on weeknights improves your chances at a lower closing price as less live bidders tend to be paying attention. I won my Vapor PT for $65 a few weeks ago. While that's not the lowest price paid, it's on the lower end of the scale.

I know I can do that but that’s not my issue. My gripe is that they have been going for more than I want to spend. Been placing a lot of $41 bids so it comes out to $50 after shipping. Haven’t been able to get lucky yet.

TW’s 25 day sale. When do they show the sale price? I’m waiting for today’s sale to start but the price is still the same as before
