Saw where if you spend $1675 at kistler you get half off. So I guess that’s 4 ZBones for about $200 each

Scheels online spring fishing sale going on through beginning of May. 20% off most things including Megabass. I stocked up on dark sleepers and got a few Chasebaits mudbugs to try out.

They have the Daiwa Revros LT2500-XH for $29.99. I bought two of them. I like that particular LT reel for a couple of reasons:

1) It has a 6.2:1 gear ratio

2) One of the few LT reels that doesn't have the "D" (deep) spool. While it's not the "S" (shallow) spool, I don't need way over 200 yards of 6lb line (or a bunch of filler) on my spinning setup.

3) The LT spools are interchangeable with the spool on my LT Legalis, and may other LT reels, so if I want to use a deep spool, I can swap spools.

Looks like Kistler is running another sale. Zbones are down to $385. Even at 30% off, that's still too rich for my blood. I just moved up into the $200 rod bracket. Frankly, I don't even want to know what I'm missing at the $500+ price point.

I just had to write on here about Dick’s Sporting Goods shipping policies. I ordered a spinning rod from them and received it just the other day and it came in a large cardboard box when I open the box the rod was in there loose it was not wrapped in anything there was no packaging in the box it was just bouncing around in there completely loose. Luckily the rod was not damaged but this is an unacceptable shipping method of fishing rods by Dick’s Sporting Goods I mean come on they have to be able to afford rod tubes like everyone else.

That has been said on here plenty of times.

This is the Dick's way. Complete amateur hour. I ordered a rod from them in the past. Came the same way, except I had a snapped rod inside.

I've never ordered a rod from Dick's but it seems they often ship from multiple sources instead of a single distribution center like TW does.  Last year I had an order come in about 4 or 5 shipments from multiple stores, distribution center and they even drop shipped some items from pure fishing.  I bet that rod was shipped from a random store that didnt have shipping tubes.

why with all the bad rep about Dicks would anyone order a rod from them period period period

I have ordered in the past, but their packaging of rods is less then desirable. I would order a rod for curbside pick up if that is available in your area.

They removed fishing from my local store, and with no ship-to-store option, I wouldn’t buy any rod from them based on my personal track record with them and rods.

Wish they would run that big power bait “buy 3 bags, get 1free deal” that had the Berkeley rebate that stacked on top.

I must be the lucky one ?‍♂️ I’ve ordered many rods from dicks sporting goods over the last year or so, all of mine came in a proper tube aside one! I which was in the card board box and luckily arrived ok.  Two last month were Denali attax rods and came each in their own tube.

Just ordered a Skeet Reese cranking rod for 39.99 from Dick's. I added a couple packs of Gamakatsu trebles to get to the magic $50 for free shipping. I have never had an issue with their rod shipping in the past, if there's an issue I'm sure they'll take care of me.

I've ordered 6 rods from Amazon that came in long square boxes that you would have thought UPS would have snapped the rod into many pieces. All arrived just fine.

However, the two rods that came broken were in tubes, one from Cabela's and another from a member from another fishing site who had packed it seemingly perfectly. Go figure.

It’s like they don’t pay attention. Pretty sure I’ve never heard anyone say how they got their rod from dicks and it was a in a rod tube, wrapped and everything was beautiful. They’re pricing sucks most of the time and their rod shipping is garbage- Support the manufacturers directly or a real fishing store, not the big box store that likes money more than outdoor sports.

do the shipping companies reimburse you if they break your rod?

I've have received a few rods broken, Tackle warehouse and Cabelas both sent replacements no problem.

The problem with Dicks has been that if you buy the rod on sale, when it arrived broken, the sale was over and either there was no more in stock, or they wouldn’t replace the broken one with another now that the price had gone back up unless my local store had it in stock. (They never did) Only once were there replacements available online and I had to have the cust service rep escalate to her manager or whatever to get me a replacement without me coming out of pocket.

25% off everything - that means everything, I think its only for today though.

For instance: Garming Force Trolling motor, MAP $3199 for 57" now only $2399

They have Minn Kota and other major stuff on sale like fish finders too.
