yeah the double stack really helps, I picked up some more jackhammers and some 8xd's, really cuts into the cost of those, and free shipping to boot.  Although I don't know why I bother buying 8XD's have no idea where I'm going to throw them in NE Florida lol...

Somebody sell me on the Jackhammers. I always told myself that I'd slap myself silly if I spent $20 on a chatterbait. But I see nothing but good reviews on them.

I wish Dick's sold their for the same price as TW ($15.99). With Dick's deal, you could get 8 Jackhammers for $120. Tacklewarehouse you can get 8 at any time for $128. Not as great of a deal when you look at it like that.

Just buy a few Roman Made swimsuits and $20 for a chatterbait is nothing!  :)

I like the standard Z-man chatterbaits but I'm not paying 20 bucks for one. I'm rough with them and expect to lose them. Price/lure isn't my issue, I have lures I feel are absolutely worth the high price tag, but it's just what am I really getting over the standard one that would make me even consider it for something I fish particularly rough?

I like the JH's, but not at MSRP. Last time I got them for about $12 each with stacked coupons at Dick's and rewards. They do start vibrating pretty much immediately on retrieve.

Dick's will pricematch, it doesn't hurt to ask if they will pricematch TW.

Overton's has a 25% off $100 promotion right now, and they have Jackhammer's for $15.99.

Yeah. I get a handful of bite-offs with pike in all my lakes. Losing a $7 lure compared to a $20 one is a big difference. I am tempted to get one Jackhammer tho and see how much better it is.

Ah, thanks man. I appreciate it!

edit-Not seeing the 25% off at Overton's. I am seeing $15 off of $100.

Up at the very top of the website there's a banner: If that doesn't work, PM me for a 20% off code I got through email.

I have never thrown a jackhammer, but I do make my own chatterbait with a BPS Tungsten football head jigs (1/2 oz) and the blades from retired Z-man chatterbaits (specifically for the coffin blade) that thumps so hard it throws slack in the line, can be retrieved super slow, starts thumping on the fall and “rolls” through about any cover (the jig has a weedguard). It costs about $8 to make (cheaper if you catch the “parts” on sale). I have considered calling it “The Backhoe”. Of course, I don’t sell these since I’m sure Z-man would hunt me down, but I sure like to tell people about them haha.

I've been torn with this too but after watching a video by Tactical Bassin about these exact lures Matt Allen steered me towards the Z-Man Custom Chatterbait (TW exclusive) for like $6.99 each. While he definitely lauded the Jackhammer he said in his opinion the best bang for your buck is the Custom so I just ordered 3 of those :D.

There's a vendor on Amazon selling the Tatula 7'2 Heavy/Fast rod for $81.12, and the 7' Medium/Regular for $80.00.

I'm guessing we're gonna see a lot of Tatula rods go on sale soon with the new model coming out.

I grabbed a kastking telescoping 8' heavy casting rod for $48 shipped.

There's a spot close to my house that I can bike to where there's supposed to be some stripers, time to go find out :)

Getting there will be MUCH easier with a telescoping rod that I can toss in a backpack along with a tackle box (try biking 2 miles with a rod in your hand...). I'm excited!

Varsity Athletics, but the order is fulfilled by Amazon. Looks like only 1 left for the Heavy 7’2, great frog rod.
