@treble hook

 thanks. Just purchased one.

What do you plan to use yours for?

I put it on a 7’6” rod for mainly Texas rigging plastics. Maybe run a bladed jig every now and then.

I'm not a Lew's guy, but that seems like a great deal.

Looks like this is an Academy "exclusive".... Which reel does it most closely compare to in their standard line up?

ETA:
Went ahead and ordered one to try. $67.40 shipped with a discount code. Couldn't pass it up.

I have a couple of Tournament MPs that I’d say it compares well to. I took it out fishing this evening. It casts long and accurate, winds smooth. I didn’t have any backlashes. I didn’t catch anything on it. I caught 4 but on spinning reels, drop shot.

Dick's is having a sale on Lew's Carbon Fire rods and reels. Both baitcast and spinning. I believe they are at least 50%.

I’m kind of double posting this but this is the better place to post and I wanted to make sure everyone knows about this deal. Lews Hack Attack HD casting reel from Academy. They are normally $149.99. They have them on sale for $69.99. It has aluminum frame, Winn grips, 10 bearing, dual braking, 20 lb.drag. It’s made in Korea not China.IMG_6269.thumb.jpeg.c52f4cc0c4a77c2cd5825323c79ef8d7.jpeg

Mine came in today.

It was just loose in the box. The carboard had kind of eaten the finish up, and honestly mines pretty geary straight out of the box.

But my box, and reel both say made in China. Does yours actually say Korea?

Eh. Don't read too much into my "geary" statement. I'm pretty picky in that regard.

But it does appear to be a China reel. Not Korean.

Yeah if that’s the case I’ll return mine.
I setup store pickup and It said it’ll be ready 5/10. It’s still not ready for pick up. I went in yesterday to ask them and they said it’s getting shipped to them and not ready yet. Yet there was multiple in the glass case in the fishing section ?‍♂️

Yeah I’m canceling.

To be fair, now that I look into it, I’m  pretty sure most of the Lews under about $250 are chinesium these days?

(but I’m not a lews guy so I could be wrong)

Midway is running a 50% off sale on TFO rods. The 7'6" ML spinning has me thinking.

Tactical Elite Mag Bass Spinning Rod

I picked up the Tactical Elite 736MBR at Sportman's Warehouse for $99. I'm hoping to play with it this weekend. It does appear o be a solid rod, especially at half off.

I got a flyer from Bass Pro the other day and although I can’t speak on the performance of either they have their pro qualifier rods and baitcast reel on sale for $69.98. I will say I was tempted to pick up the 6 foot version of the rod during this year’s spring sale.

I see the Chatterbait Elite for %5.49. I don't see the Mini Max at all.

Nevermind. Once I typed it in it came up.

I think you’re thinking of interest rates. ?

Btw I had a Lews Hypermag before and honestly It was so smooth and light I thought It was messed up and got rid of It. I didn’t know high end reels at the time.
I have all daiwa and shimano reels now. Hope this new S/P is as nice.

Midway also has some open box casting Poison Adrena's and Diawa Steez AGS rods for 25-40% off, not all models but 2 of my all time favorites and 2 I want to try.  Someone buy them before me...
