Honestly, it would be cheaper for them to dump these things in the trash than sell them for $1 with free shipping, if the goal is to get rid of old packaging. Something seems fishy.

Sounds like an inexpensive way to build a marketing file with verified email and shipping addresses. From people who are definitely anglers and willing to at least try KastKing.  Probably $4-5 all-in cost per person, offset by some people purchasing other stuff while they are there.

It's an interesting experiment for them, especially if the line turns out to be decent.

This is most likely what they are doing, but perhaps even more similar they are using a time old fishing marketing technique that's highly successful.     Put your products initially into angler's hands at whatever price point/free samples, the point is that some will end up catching great fish and will no doubt attribute the success in part to the line.   Bingo, new Kastking customer for life.   You continue to buy what catches fish.  Granted, if it's terrible line/product.......they should have just dumped it in the trash, but I suspect the company wants to create a marketshare for themselves in an otherwise very hard marketplace to crack with as good and relatively cheap as Fluorocarbon has become.

Lure Lock is running an automatic 40% off (once in your cart) site wide on everything.  I came across mention of them last night perusing old threads and did some research.  They have a durable no residue sticky pad on the bottom of their tackle organizers that holds things in place.  They also sell rectangular sticky pads.  Several legit reviews were positive around the web.  I was interested initially in the pads to stick on my desk and vehicle dashboards and also picked up a few organizers to try out.  Combined with rubber bands over the trebles (another tip I picked up perusing old posts) seems like it could be quite efficient for storage if you like everything laid out flat and organized and not tossed in on top of each other.

For me at least the 6 codes I had for Pure Fishing are no longer working.  I just went through them all with new unique email addresses and none of them worked.  I haven't found any other codes as of yet.  It was an exercise in curiosity, I think I bought just about everything I even remotely wanted over the past 2 weeks and then some.

LOL, just checked the shipping email on the Kastking.....stuff is coming from China.    Yeah this is garbage and won't be going on any serious use reel.    I feel ripped off even for a $1?

Yeah there's been back and forth about where the line is made since they state engineered and manufactured in Germany but the spool box clearly has a made in china label on the back ... who knows. For me its $1 that might turn out to be half decent leader material for fishing zebra infested areas

Although im no expert in fishing line I’ll add for what it’s worth I have 2 spools of their 4 lb line and 1 spool of their florokote line in 4 lb test. The florokote has been  on the reel for 3 seasons and although I’m not catching monster fish it’s held up extremely well and honestly has not coiled up nearly as bad as I thought it would. The 4 lb mono I bought last season and my only complaint is the blue color faded a lot faster than I expected but the red color shows no signs of fade whatsoever. Again I’m not catching monsters but I’ve experienced no problems with knot failures or inconsistencies in the line whatsoever. YMMV

Every spool or pic of a spool I've seen says "material from Germany", which isn't the same as made in Germany.

Okay, I just now found a closeup pic of a blue box of Kovert and it says manufactured in Germany.

Who knows. It's not like I don't have most of 3 1000-yard spools of Tatsu left.

Has everyone received their Grandebass orders?  Mine hasn't shown up.  They are a small company, but it's been almost a month.  Sent them a message this morning....we'll see what they say.

Mine finally arrived this afternoon. Ordered Dec 1 or 2, can't remember exactly. I sent three emails that were never responded to.

Hate to hear this. I really like their products. I wouldn't so much mind the wait if they'd just tell me up front to expect it.

They most definitely should have informed everyone purchasing during that sale about the wait.  I also think they make great baits, but not informing or responding is a big turn off ?

Got my first of two $1 spools in the mail today...

Front looks like it should, back was interesting because of the sticker on it covering up the original upc.

Got mine today also.  The spool comes with a plastic case like some JDM lines.  I got some 12lb and tested the breaking strength like I always do with a new line.  Breaks were in the line, not at the knot at between 11-12lbs.  Thats good for me.  I will use it.  Doesn't seem too stretchy so it may be good for me.  I don't like rubber band fluoro.  I have ready that it may not be great with abrasion resistance, but I don't fish lakes with a lot of rock.

How do you test breaking strength?

I got mine and thought the same thing. These were obviously meant to go to Academy and I'm wondering if they canceled a huge order that KK ran especially for Academy, that they then backed out of.

Either way I got a Spool in 15lb that I have no idea what I'll use for haha.
