I have.  Which is why I stopped doing it.  Then there's the fact that you can't pick it up and hold it and touch it before buying it if you buy it online, unseen.  Rods are one of those things that I need to see in person before purchasing.  Shoes are yet another to ensure a good fit.

Went down to FF in Carver to check them out before hand...ya, they carry them there.

That's what I did before I bought Costa sunglasses.  Try them on in store and buy them online.

 

I'm gonna guess that most people buying rods online do not try them out at a retail store ahead of time though.  Its a good idea.

I just got my virtual rod shipment from pure fishing. I got a beautiful rod tube. But that was it. It was completely empty??

 

going to try and file a claim. At least it was only 25 bucks.

EMPTY?! wow. sorry to hear :( I think UPS or someone else should have to deal with some of this and not just pure...I'm sure working with either isn't easy :(

My Pure Fishing lure orders from over the weekend still say Unfulfilled under my account. Then I noticed this. Hmmmm.

I've seen this happen on two occasions with other companies, and it didn't end how the company thought I'd imagine.   Major blowback, and numerous lost customers.     It would be way smarter for them from a financial standpoint to just honor the orders they accepted.    

 

Honestly I buy very few PF products, so if my order gets cancelled no skin off my back.   What amounted to 60-70% off retail prices is what got me try some of their newer products like a Stunna, Slobberknockers, Jigs, and the Power Stingers.   Got a new scale coming but it will be replacing a Berkeley one that is 20yrs+ old, and still calibrates perfectly.

Had a Penn saltwater rod show up a bit ago.  Problem is, it's suppose to be a Zenon ?.  Had 2 zenons on this order, a mh spinning and mh casting.  Got the mh casting and the Penn salt rod.  I can't believe the order packer didn't catch that they were drastically different rods.

Did you order multiples of lures or are they just kicking out random orders now?

Ordered single crankbaits and jerkbaits. I ordered multiple bags of flat worms. All of my orders say Unfulfilled at this time.

Did they initially take money from your bank account?

 

I got my first 2 orders fast. I placed 2 small ones after. So far no shipment notification emails like I got for the first two. But they did take the money from my bank account, so I'm assuming they go thru, unless they refund the money.

They did take my money. It does say that they will refund the money in that disclaimer. Knowing them, it will probably take months and ill be calling my CC company again. Never know, our orders may ship. The first few orders that I placed shipped instantly though.

I’m sure the volume of orders they are receiving is unprecedented to the nth degree.

I placed two orders last friday....received one order today, but the other hasn't even shipped.  It is strange for sure.

I'm amazed by how clueless some of these companies are. How do you not know by now that shipping rods in a flimsy box is a terrible idea?

Yikes, I'm afraid some of these pure orders aren't going to get fulfilled... dang it... I got quite a few, but had one or two more that I was really hoping to get... I guess it would have been better if I had placed one larger order, instead of 5 random orders. Maybe the 5 orders threw the red flag... dang it.
