I believe its Shakopee, MN.  So probably not any closer to WI lol

IIRC I read in Minneapolis Business Magazine that it was Chaska....I know there's a few buildings at the north end (Jonathan Park) that have been empty for a while. First full-time job I had after the Air Force was as a computer operator for Minnetonka Corp in Jonathan Park.

Do they have everything that you can get on their site in-store/back room?

Their place is like a warehouse with a service desk. Order online, pick up at the desk. Can't 'wander around' through a store type area deciding what you want.

Ah, thanks. So it's not like you can go there and handle rods?

They actually do have a small area where you can walk around and look at some stuff.  Not so much lures, but clothing, hats, and rods they all allow you to look at before purchasing.  They see the value in allowing customers to pick up, feel, and try on certain items before they buy them (like a rod, @NorthernBasser).  Its not like a traditional retail store though.  They also have two guest computers when you walk in so you can order something "on the spot."

This is the setup at the current store in Golden Valley.  I assume it will be similar at their new location in Chaska.  I think they just needed more warehouse storage space.  The Marketing Director told me that they eventually want to get into tackle for other species specifically.  Right now its pretty much just all bass-oriented.

I really think this is the most dangerous thread on this site!!

I don't "Need" anything right now,.. Or maybe ever again, but still tempted to order either the 734c, the 736cb glass, or both.

Only concern is what if these new corks suck after a while?!? I don't have a Champion 734c though (just a Fury and Sierra), and that Mossy Swirl on the 736cb glass is pretty cool looking.

I have some custom rods with burl cork and it holds up great, it's just heavier than regular cork. I mainly used it on rods to achieve a little better balance, but I think it looks good too.

Yeah,... I'm weak and ordered both the 734c and the 736cb glass. ?

Anyone know if there will be any Columbus Day sales, or is the TW fall sale and Omnia moving sale it for this month?

The Tackle Trap has a customer appreciation sale for 30% off. Some exclusions apply, but I was pleasantly surprised to have it work on a couple major brands that are usually excluded.

Any thoughts on this reel?

Too fast - I don't need 35 inches per turn of the handle on a spinning reel.

correct me if i'm wrong, but I think this is pretty standard for a 3000 spinning reel. No different than all the other reel brands. Some guys think the larger 3000 size reels cast better with the bigger spool, etc. I guess each to their own....

Dick's Sporting Goods has Abu Garcia Revo X Spinning Fishing Reel (Revo2x30) for $62.22. Shipping is free (must be signed in).

Any thoughts on this reel?

Also 68 from amazon.

I have that exact reel. Have had it for about 4 years now. I don't use it is much anymore just because I've phased it out of my lineup, not because it's a bad reel, but more so because I'm always trying new stuff/upgrading/etc.

It's a very solid reel, and at that price it's a no-brainer IMO.

Sadly, they just announced they're actually closing their doors and website. FALL30 30% discount is back on for most in stock items.

Definitely interesting. A lot of speculation the boom in fishing tackle during the pandemic has burst and retailers aren't doing near as well as they had been the past couple years. If that's truly the case we should see some really good BF sales coming up in a few weeks. Hopefully we don't see any others going out of business regardless.

On the other side of the coin - Omnia is moving into a facility that's about triple the size of their old place. They're expanding from being a bass-centric outlet into panfish, walleye and ESOX.

Gary from The Tackle Trap hinted that maybe he was starting his own company, that's what I read into it anyway, so maybe it was an issue of the owners being ready to get out of the game and not forced out.

Omnia is the only place where I’m a member. Joined about 6 months ago and it’s paid for itself.

Fishermens Source has these 2 Okuma Psycho Sticks for almost 60% off.  I was slightly intrigued when these came out in 2021 but wasn't going to pay almost $300 for an Okuma.  At $110 shipped...why not!
