Reminder: Do NOT attempt to get around the word filters. We don't like to hand out penalties, but will do so if this occurs. Please don't put us in that position.

I got a Levante perfect pitch for $155 shipped! That's pretty close to cost for most shops.

Need something to huck 6" mag drafts with.

So bummed. I went to checkout and just missed the sale by seconds. Had a handful of OneTen+1's and Mag Drafts in my cart. :(

Amazon has the Okuma EPXT-30 Epixor Spinning Reel for 33.00. It was a nice buy in the mid-40's. Probably 100 fish in on the first one I bought, got another. Seems really well made, smooth, etc. I use it for finesse stuff.

Hadn't seen this deal posted anywhere. Fenwick HMG spinning and casting rods are on sale for $79.99 at Bass Pro, Cabelas, Scheels, and I'm sure others. Combine with a Pflueger reel and there's a $20 mail-in/online rebate available.

In for 1....   Hopefully it’s on the smaller side of “30” sized reels.  Should pair up well with the $40 Ducket Ghost that’s been sitting in the corner of the garage.

What is exactly is the issue with naming certain brands or sites with this site?

Read the rules, they're only like 84 pages, shouldn't take that long :wiseman:. As the mods and Glenn are fond of saying, if you don't like the rules you are free to leave this site and go find another message board. I personally think the rules and regs are overboard but I enjoy this site so I try my best to abide by them even if sometimes it's REALLY hard too :Police:.

Being a researcher and a fisherman on a budget that allows some nice things once in awhile, but I can’t miss on a 150 dollar rod or reel for example, the not being able to talk about certain things and the praise for sponsor products honestly has gotten to me at times.

I get blocking it on on the main boards, just wish PMs weren’t blocked. I respect a lot of people’s opinions on here, and if I had a way for some to give me a green light on a site being legit (PM?) that would be awesome.

As for the sponsor stuff, Siebert Morel jigs are my favorite Ned heads now and the rage menace, bought on sale, is reaching go to bait status for me. Just can’t afford to take a flyer on a Kast King reel:)

American Legacy has 15% off all Dobyns Rods.

First time ordering from them, so they sent me an additional 10% code. $91 shipped for a new Fury 662SF is a deal I couldn't pass up. Thanks.

You are 100% correct about the PM's, blocking a name/web site etc. on the main boards is fine but a PM is just that...a private message between 2 members and what's said between those 2 members is private and therefore the name filters should not be in effect...totally agree about that!!!

Can I promote my products or website?
These forums are commercial and spam free. If you are a website or product owner, or run a tournament circuit and want to advertise on BassResource.com, please contact us. We have a variety of options available for nearly every budget. We appreciate your participation and advice on the message boards. But please, these forums are not the place to post advertisements or promotions. The avatar, signature and other profile areas are not free advertising space either. Please do not post your logo, branding, etc. there. It will be deleted and you will be banned.

Please do not send an IM or e-mail to the admin or moderators to challenge these rules. It is not open to debate.

That said, you may have noticed a promotion or two in the forums and wondered why they haven’t been deleted. These are posts made by businesses who currently advertise on BassResource.com, or by writers who regularly contribute to BassResource.com. In order to keep the forums clean of spam, we need to limit those who can post promotions in the forums. Limiting it to these cases accomplishes this. We feel they deserve the privilege since they are supporting this site.

Why does the site or product name I posted show up as "another site" or as ***?
First it has nothing to do with competition. In most cases, it has something to do with the bullet point above - site owners not abiding by the rules of the forum, or over-zealous pro-staffers spamming the forums. In some cases, however, the site owner specifically requested that we do not link to their site.

The filters are a site wide setting, there's no way to control individual forums.  Pretty sure it is already a feature request.  Maybe someday we will be able to do it.

You want to know why?  Because of all the spammers who attempted to skirt the rules and then cried "FOUL!!!!!" because it wasn't absolutely 100% explicitly outlined or said in the rules. They knew they were wrong, but tried to argue it anyway.

So I made the rules extremely explicit.

Sorry it's so long, but you can blame the spamming jacktards that want to nitpick everything. :)

Also, J Francho is right, we can't micro-manage the filters.  Besides, they're in place because of spammers - who have hammered the PM's in the past with spam.  So it negates the effectiveness of the spam filters by removing them from PMs.

And AGAIN, to make it crystal clear, the filters are there because of spamming.  If a brand is filtered, it's because they spammed the crap out the forums, and you (the members) complained about it.

That's why the site is spam-free, which y'all love that. :)

And thank you a bunch for this, it’s very nice to come on a site and not have a constant bombardment of crap advertisements etc. Keep up the good work folks, I appreciate what you guys do to make this a fun forum to be on ???

If anyone is looking for a nice paddle, REI has some colors in the Werner Camano paddle on sale for 30% off. Still pricey at $199, but it's super light. I have one and love it.

Wait, we're allowed to talk about Spam now? Good. That stuff is NASTY!!!

JK, Glenn. Love this place! You've (this thread in particular) cost me a lot of money since I've come aboard! :embarassed2:

Kittery Trading Post has a 25% off flash sale. Megabass is included. I just ordered a PopMax, Pop-X, and 2 dark sleepers. I have never tried any of these lures before. I love topwaters—I am excited.

ETA:Sale ends 11:59 est tonight

Received my order already! They sent me two PopMax instead of one of each. Doesn’t seem worth the hassle to send one back for a Pop-X. The dark sleepers are smaller than I expected.

Too bad this isn't in-store too. Their online site is terrible. Selection is very limited. Not sure what they're doing over there.

I want Gander to succeed. They've "went out of business" once already. I talked to a few Gander representatives about the possibility of them improving their online stock, and every time they've been pretty brash with me, despite me talking nicely about it.

It is what it is. I hope they stick around.
