8% back in eBay bucks currently going on thru the 20th if you see the promo at your landing page. You must activate it. I guess it's better than nothing....Won't get the bucks to spend until April.

This morning I had a $5 off any $5 purchase on Ebay, didn't seem to be too many restrictions. I found a Spro Little John for $9 that came down to $4 shipped with the coupon. 

 

I think it is targeted to select folks, but worth logging into Ebay to see. The code for me was FUNFIVE

I have recently wanted to try an Okuma baitcasting reel. I have looked at the inexpensive models at Dick’s Sporting Goods and was impressed by the construction.  Anyway, after seeing the Okuma Helios SX mentioned a couple of times here, I thought I’d give it a whirl.  While TW offers it for $230, including a free jacket which I don’t need, I found that through Walmart I could pick up the left-hand model for about $160 with free shipping! The right-hand models are a few bucks more. They also had the TCS for around $165 (which I don’t understand) if I remember correctly.  Found Tatsu line for a few bucks cheaper as well, so my $200 gift card is going to be put to good use although I haven’t ordered the line yet. (Just seems wrong for someone of my dubious capabilities to shell out that much for line.)  Anyway, the reel deal was too good to pass up.  Now I’m going through the Walmart online store to determine what other goodies might be available. I just have to wait until February 26.  Oh, and if I don’t like the reel I am s-o-o gonna yell at @Glenn, @roadwarrior, and @Bluebasser86!!!  (Although I am very confident that those guys would not steer me wrong.)  Thanks to all of you for discussing the Okuma stuff.  Love my TCS rod so we shall see ...

 

Side note:  When one is as isolated from tackle shops as I am, one really relies on the thoughtful inputs from the more knowledgeable guys on here so thanks to everyone who intelligently discusses their preferences!!

Oh man, what a deal!  The Helios reel is one of my favorites.  Is that deal still available?  I might just have to stock up!

@Glenn:  I didn’t see any time restrictions. Just went to the Walmart site and searched for “Okuma Helios SX”.

If you like the Bass Pro pro qualifier II baitcasting reel, Cabelas has them on sale for $49.99.

That was in the Kansas City store. Not sure if it is nationwide. 

there were a bunch of them on display.

 

I own one. they are decent reels. feel similar to my gen 4 revo SX.

That’s nationwide and online as well. Believe it’s the special edition only with the blue accents?

The limit run of Pro Qualifer (blue) is available at two speeds for 49.99.

 

6.8.1 (28 IPT) & 7.5.1 (31 IPT)

 

I was also gotta pick it up but decided not to as I have those Curado 70 and SV103 in my arsenals. Instead, I went old school and bought BPS PQ 4.7.1 today.

Oh wow you are right! It does show up in the cart. I was just going by the product page. It said: “This item is excluded from all discounts and promotions.” Thanks

All rods seem to be included, i picked up St. Croix Legend Elite 6'10" ML.  Can't wait for spring!

I came close to pulling the trigger on that one. I do not know enough about the legend elites to make a confident purchase.

Nice! I have the same rod in my cart, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. 

 

Edited to add: the discount isn’t working for me anymore.

Ya, i went in blind as well. Never even held a St Croix rod before, but always read good things.  But overall I have a feeling I'll be happy with it.  there is 2.5% ebates as well so that adds a little to saving

I’ve had my St Croix rod for 20 years or more. Great rod and I continue you to use it whenever I fish.

Most of the higher-end brands have that verbiage but to the best of my knowledge Megabass is the only one that never seems to go on sale.

I have a 9'6" Legend Elite salmon/steelhead version and it's amazing.  I use it mainly in the surf, but, did hook onto a river king salmon with it once - didn't land it but the pull on the rod is so perfect.
