Wheeler and Martain jumping from Okuma was kinda surprising.  These TCS rods have won a lot of money!

Academy online has some good deals in the clearance section.  Ochos, TRDs, Z-craws, and a bunch of other stuff for $1.98 a bag.

I went to Academy a few days ago, and there were clearance tags with big reductions on a lot of empty shelves. When they start marking the good stuff down, it goes fast.

Academy has one heck of a Clearance event going on online and in store. I scooped up the Shimano Chronarch for $99. I didnt need a new reel but I couldn't pass it up. I would have bought a few more for that price. Lots of hard baits for $1.98 as well.

Not until April... That is how they got me hooked on this line. They did a BOGO deal whenever they released this line.

That's great deal on the Chronarch.  I wish we had an Academy here in Indy.  All we have is a couple of Dicks Sporting Goods and they carry very little.  All of the local tackle shops are gone except a fly shop and the Gander Outdoors by me closed on December 30th.

The Academy sale got me for thirty bucks, but I needed to restock on TRDs in any case so don't feel too bad.  

 

another site has most 5" Senkos for $5.62 per pack as a daily special.  That got me me too but at that price I would be a fool not to stock up.

Finally scored something worth commenting on at an Academy clearance - not much was jumping out at me, although there were some decent markdowns. Then I found a solitary Daiwa Tatula XT baitcaster rod, 7'0" M/F - Reg $99.99, on for $49.99.  Anyone got feedback on these?  Not sure where their Med. power rods land, technique wise.

I swung by Academy today, picked up a few bags of Sweet Beavers and Skinny Dippers @ .98c a bag, plus a couple Columbia PFG shirts and shorts for almost 60% off.  Didn't look at rods or reels maybe I should have lol.
