When I was shopping for my Curado K, I found one for $40 and naturally hit the buy it now button. The transaction went through. The next day my money was refunded, the transaction didnt even show on my purchase order and the seller and the other sellers with Ks for under $60 as well. They were all in the US.

 

My guess is that they are cheap chinese knockoffs that people buy, buy the same product from a big box store for MSRP, return knockoff to big box store for MSRP, and keep original for the knockoff price. There are zillions for $100 right now too.

They closed out at 200$ and aren't as sought after anymore /w the SV103 being introduced. 160-200$ would be a ballpark.

I'm sure some have seen this, but DSG has a Maryland sales tax holiday in store and online thru 8/18 with $10 off purchase of $50+. Code: TAXFREEMD18. Haven't checked to see if it works out of state, but it's not stated in the restrictions. CAN'T be stacked with other offers. Not stellar, but 20% off ain't bad, I suppose.

Yup bought a CT Type R 3 days ago for $79 from seller in Cali with 0 reviews. eBay didn't just cancel sale they removed it completely so I had to go into PayPal to cancel transaction.

Please, I might need to take a vacation to avoid the TWH sales . My wife will kill me but....she just bought two pairs of shoes recently.

Are they still planning on excluding all of the brands I like?  Yes.

Which brands? There's a lot of brands that won't show you the discount until you go to checkout. 

 

For example, for their 4th of July sale the St. Croix rods weren't marked down. Until I put one in my cart and checked out, then it subtracted the difference.

Some companies won't let retailers advertise sales. A few years back I worked for Academy and shimano wouldn't let them advertise sales on reels. They had them, but if you didn't know somebody you had to just stumble across them in-store. I figure this is the case for "see price in cart" type sales... but that is pure speculation.

Seems every time the usual stores have a sale, people complain about the excluded items (that aren't really excluded anyway), and act like its the retailer's fault. I've seen people make comments about it on TW's instagram that make my 5 year old nephew look more mature than they are

 

And as far as I know, the one brand that is ALWAYS excluded is Megabass

Their past few sales haven't been that bad as far as exclusions go. I think I was most disappointed in their 12 Days of Christmas last year where it seemed for the most part they were trying to get rid of unpopular items that weren't selling and pass them off as something special near Christmas.
