LOL....na, I actually have one extra rod which I need a reel for. Just haven't decided on the reel yet...so many options.

Na, I'm a Daiwa fan and am looking at picking up a Steez or one of the new TATULA® CT TYPE-R in a 6.3 speed.  They're an economical but quality product that I fell in love with last year.

You just missed the sale at tacklewarehouse for the CT Type R 50th Anniversary Edition reel for $135. I picked up a 6.3 speed for my wife. I just came in on Friday.

Wondering when the Tax Stimulus sale will start? Over the weekend I had a screenshot on my iPad where it started today I believe. I will likely pass unless they do the extra off on some brands like the BF sale.

So I'm at my in-laws place in small town Minnesota.. I swing by the local walmart to see if there's anything good in the fishing clearance section. 

 

Oh they just had a few racks of KVD cranks for $1.50 a piece. :o

When is it my turn to get those awesome deals you guys keep annoying me with?:(  I think my local wall marts didn't get the memo about the clearance.

all my walmarts have are those tru-turn hooks that look like bent nails. The crank baits are a big score

I think the "in small town Minnesota" part he mentioned is the key.  The same has applied to '"in urban center of a big City" for me.  I think the key is the best deals, and not picked over, are in out of the way places that don't get a lot of traffic.

Snake is exactly right I hit a few diff ones and sadly all high traffic ones and up north east so granted I got a few goos deals but unlike other guys on here nothing that amazing like kvd for a buck 50 seeding those post make me cry

Yep - hit mine up tonight - only found some random things like Gamakatsu offset EWG 4/0 and 5/0 5pk hooks marked down to $1.97, but they were all gone - the 2/0 and 3/0 were reg price.  Didn't really see anything worth looking at.  And man I'm needing to buy some new crankbaits - that was a heck of a deal. 

 

I was walking thru Samsclub earlier today and they had a rack of Abu Garcia Orra SX rod n reel combos - all 7' MH/F rods with the 6.4:1 version of the reel for $104. I bought the same combo from Academy 2 weeks ago, and It is a really solid little setup.
