Where are the females?

I live in New England. The spawn has been over for about a week to two weeks now and the water is 65 degrees and I have been fishing the shoreline for the past week. There are beds everywhere but nothing on them. I have been seeing a lot of cruising bass.  I have caught a lot of bass around 2 pounds. Almost all of them are skinny and long. I'm assuming they are males. I got a female yesterday around 5 pounds. It was really short and fat. Other than that, I haven't really caught any females. Does anyone know where they might be?

I caught a male today, he was still hanging out on a bed. He wouldn't leave the bed and there were no fry with him. I've been told the females head to deeper water after the spawn where they feed and recoup their energy.

If they're off their beds, the females are in their summer haunts resting and eating easy meals. Looks for points, ledges, places where they are deeper but can ambush prey easy. I find they suspend on deep drop offs as well.

scaleface keeps them buried in his back yard, tightly sealed in an old mayonaise jar.

I have a highly detailed map of Mark Twain lake . Its like 50 pages made before the land was flooded . Its to big to scan but  some of those routes are easy to see on that map . I have a laminated copy of one pge , if I can find it I'll scan it and post it

 

Edited I'll just take a photo of a page , that will work .

Here we go a ,partial picture of just one page . I had to color the map in myself with hi-liters . Yellow is normal pool red is the flood plain . Took a lot of hours .  Look at the  ditches that go from the flats to the channel .   

This photo is a little blurry but its full of routes from shallow to deep .

Dang!  I don't know how you guys do it on those big lakes. Talk about information overload. 

I have a difficult time on the small natural lakes up here.  It'd take me half a season to decipher one of those smaller creek arms.

 I just tested the boat out on monponsett lakes and found some nice females on the first drops from the spawning areas. I love this time of year,  a couple kayaks, a few bass boats, were fishing up shallow catching dinks probably laughing at me thinking im the idiot fishing summer patterns.,... When in reality im getting the last laugh hooking into nothing under 4 lbs.,.

 I had to use a crankbait to find them due to me breaking the transducer on my rear or "primary" finder, and the brandy spankin new helix 9  up front failed totally,  I had it working in the driveway ,...Then slid the battery back under the rear deck into its tray, (i shoulda tested it then) probably pulled a wire when i slid the battery back

P.S.,   some still had eggs in them so the spawn isnt over on monponsetts, each lake differs. And i like the ulterra just need to get used to it, kinda loud but its got more getup then my old powerdrive, and spot lock is priceless.,
