"hamma" Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Using a tiny ultralight hula popper (maybe 1.5 inches long) for bluegills on a 5'6" berkley bionix ultralight rod with 4 lb test stren on a old shimano speedmaster 1000 sized reel, I caught a 6.3 largemouth,.took forever to get him in without breaking off. My buddy said if he didnt witness it, he wouldnt of believed it. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted May 24, 2016 Super User Posted May 24, 2016 When I was younger I used to use a very small jointed bait I got from my grandpa. The only markings on it say "inch minnow" and the bait is really only an inch long. I caught numerous bass on it, the biggest being a little over 17" so it would have been somewhere in the 3 lb range. I also caught a 19 incher while panfishing with a 1/16th oz jig and earth worm under a bobber. Quote
