brgbassmaster Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Well figured I post a new boat post. Next would be a storage post lol. I have stored boats over winter before but before I had my wife to look after it and it was in my nice warm garage. So if I'm going g to leave here in Phoenix should I leave trickle charger hooked up for the next 7 months or should I take batteries out completely? I'm going to get a garage storage but not climate controlled. I know everything else I should do. Just wasn't sure about leaving charger hooked up for that long. Thanks! Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted May 21, 2016 Super User Posted May 21, 2016 Charge them before you leave and then disconnect them and leave them in the boat. As long as they are disconnected there really isn't a way for them to loose their charge (maybe a small amount) unless they are bad. If you come back and they are dead, well you got that great deal on a boat and saved enough to purchase that new set of batteries for the boat when you get back. Consider this a test to see if they are any good or not. 3 Quote
