It's crazy how fishing can be, they will love certain baits one day, then at the same location, they could careless for that. So last night I fished a pond by my house that I've fished plenty of times. I recently just got bait caster and decided to try braided line for the first time and put a frog on it. 3rd cast in, I get that sucker stuck in a tree. Not to mention, the frog was bought that day, I spent 20 minutes getting it out of the tree since my cast was so bad and it was on land. I need a lot more practice with my bait caster since its been about 5 years since I've used one on a daily basis, because I was very uncomfortable. So after getting that back, I tied the frog back on, and it threw it for another 30 mins, andddd nothing... I'm convinced that there is no big bass in this pond but I stay optimistic. So I grab my other pole with a spinner bat on it, anddd nothing... Then I said screw it and threw on a popper. First 2 casts, 2 fish, its crazy how things work out. I ended up catching about 5 all together in about an hour, they were all pretty small but I at least pulled some out.
