Robert Riley Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 This is a tad bit out of place, but still rods and reels. I'm going up to the Boundary Waters in late June, want to target as much as possible, pike, walleye, smallies, panfish and catfish. We are relying on catching fish in order to eat. There will be two of us, and we will probably bring 2 rods each. My buddy is bringing a medium spinning rod and baitcaster (he only has two rods). I'm thinking of buying a new frog rod, and taking that, for big spinners and swimbaits. In addition, I want to bring a 7' ML spinning rod, can probably handle everything but pike on that. Any advice? Turkey sandwich Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 are you hiking/canoe camping? Staying in a cabin? If you need to pack light, a M-F, MLF, and a 4 wt fly rod can go a very long way if you're looking to catch dinner. Quote

blckshirt98 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 My advice would be to bring enough energy bars and beef jerky to survive for the length of the trip! Would suck if you closed the car door on the rods when you got up there and suddenly had no food. Quote
