Beads for C-Rigs

I am using Vike brand 3/4 oz bullet weights with Vike brand 8mm beads on my C rig. When they get close to each other, they "snap" together, like a magnet. There is certainly a magnetized connection there. This concerns me that there is no "rattle" since they are "stuck" together. The rattle between the bead and the weight is the purpose of using the bead. Should I change beads to a glass version? Thanks.

EDIT: Weight and bead are tungsten and are magnetized.

Interesting... I don't think that lead is magnetic... You're sure they're stuck together and cannot slide apart from each other?

That's really strange, wonder how that magnetization occurred.  Either way I like to use glass beads since they seem to stay clean and have beveled edges.  I tried plastic beads sold at tackle stores and cheap ones from craft stores, but the plastic has rough edges or will stick together over time.  Glass seems to be the smoothest, cleanest, most inert material for beads.

I use glass beads and they work fine.

Yes!!! Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Doesn't it defeat the rattle purpose when they stick together???

I put a tiny plastic bead between the two!

Tungsten is a very low permeability ( magnetic ) material. I use 8 mm heat treated glass faceted bead, you might want to try 1 tungsten and 1 glass if 2 beads is your goal. Sound is the reason you use beads in the first place,  knot protection is secondary.

2 beads isn't my "goal" per say..... I just want "normal chatter" between my bead and weight .... and I don't feel that's taking place when they are "stuck" to each other. I'll just use glass from here on...... thanks!

I bought em cause I love using Vike tungsten weights and figured their force beads should work well with their other product. I don't get it either, they're magnetized and there doesn't seem to be a way to make it so they repulse each other which would be rad, they only attract each other. I've caught fish with them on there but I've switched to glass cause it easily achives the desired effect. At least the force beads cost less than a buck.

If yo think that bead door makes a difference, the a craft store like Michael's has a bunch of beads - glass & ceramic.  I use different colored beads when I make my jika rigs - for aesthetic reasons more than anything else.

glass beads have a really distinct click to them, i use the top brass weight and bead.

Yes, go with a glass bead. But not just any glass bead.

Head to a bead store that sells all types of beads and select some "different" ones. These "different" beads will make a "different" noise under water and the bass, being an inquisitive animal, will want to see what it is making that noise.

I have many "different" beads in shapes and sizes. Of course, I do like to get real glass which you can find at Joanne's Fabrics for a good price.

As for color, with glass I like clear. With the "different" ones, it doesn't matter.
