Any good freshwater spots by the Sanibel Island Area?

Hey Ya'll,

 

I'm heading down to the Sanibel Island area this weekend. Going to try some salt water fishing of course, but any good freshwater spots that aren't too far (max half hour drive)? Preferably a canal. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
