I use academy aluminum pliers. They have a cutter on one side that slices through braid

I have these as well and the titanium cutters on the side cut braid better and cleaner than anything I've ever used. I've had them for 2 or 3 years now and they still cut like when they were new.

^This^^ !!! ... I've tried scissors , nail clippers , etc. and this Boomerang tool is THE best by far - works on all kinds of line but especially good for braid . Well worth the $12.00 I paid for it .

Fiskars.  When my kids out grew them I took them all and put them in my tackle bag.

I've used a few different things over the years. I started with Rapala pliers with carbide cutters and those worked great until I lost them and I didn't like that the pliers themselves weren't stainless steel. I used the Mustad KVD line cutter/split ring pliers and those worked well for about a year for cutting braid, but the split ring part was a joke. It was easier and quicker to use a fingernail...even if you had to wait to grow out a fingernail haha. This past winter, I got a pair of Rapala braid scissors free with an order and so far they've been great. Basically a stainless pair of Fiscar kids sissors, but a portion of the blades are serrated and the grips are made for a normal sized hand.

One of my friends always uses some sort of surgical scissors. He said he buys them in bulk online and they're great because they're stainless, and have fully serrated blades that cut through all lines well as well as being heavy duty enough to cut musky leader wire.

When I had this issue I tried various brans a of scissors with mixed results.  I didn't know about the Boomerang snips at the time.  I happened to be in the Michaels craft store, shopping for beads for my jika rigs and passed the scissors aisle.   I got a smallish size of tailors scissors - forget the brand - $20 more of less and they work for me.

Boomerang tool is the best bar none, I keep it clipped to a belt look with a small carabiner.  It does lose it's edge after a lot of use so I usually replace mine every 2 years, but it's still worth every penny.

KVD Split ring pliers.  Cuts braid great.  Split ring part is garbage

At home I use the fiskars kid's scissors.  work really well.  On the water I have been using my buck knife, very sharp but a little overkill for this purpose.  I think I'll try the boomerangadandang

I asked the same question not long ago and someone recommended it. I picked one up from Amazon and love it. I keep it clipped to my tackle bag on one of the zippers. Love the fact that it will cut limp braid.

I have and used both of these items.  I strongly prefer the Boomerang.

The Fiskars kid scissors are the real deal. I saw them recommended a little while ago on this forum and picked up a pair. They work great on every line I have tried. I keep them in my canoe, exposed to the elements, and so far (a month or so) they are rust free. I think they were like $3

I bought RIGRAP CERAMAXx Super Cutters in January and can't believe how easily it cuts braid.  I don't know how long the ceramic blades will stay sharp but so far so good.  I bought them off Amazon for $10.  Before that I was using the Rapala braid scissors but they would only last a year before becoming dull and having to be replaced.

Use the same here or my razor knife. Those ring pliers work great just don't get to close to any metal when cutting loose. I nicked the wire on a sprinnerbait it now has a spot that won't cut, right in the middle. :(

Boomerang here as well.

I have both the small and large versions - the big ones cut pike/musky leaders in addition to braid.

I agree on the kids fiskars scissors, they work geat.  For some reason they wont cut your finger, but slice through braid like a hot knife through butter.

If I could make braid scissors out of zebra mussels, I'd be a millionaire!

In the meantime, I use hemocuts. You can find them in most fly shops.

I use these same exact scissors. I like them because they are compact, rounded off and sharp. A knife or lighter in a pinch.

We have the Mustad and the Boomerang tools at work and the Boomerang is top notch.

Either the sissors on my swiss army knife like @Fisher-O-men and more recently the boomerang tool. I picked one up recently and fell in love with it. Now it depends on which i can get to faster. The boomerang does work better on braid overall i think.

The boomerang is pretty hard to beat.
