New alumacraft boat care

Hi All,

I'm a first time boat owner (getting a new Alumacraft 175 Competitor).  I'm really excited about it and should get it in a week or so.  I'm wondering how to care for it after I take it out of the water after a day of fishing.  Any tips for cleaning equipment, etc.?

My best advise is clean it as soon as you get home. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get clean. I mostly just use a rag and water to get the ring that forms around it. Also charge your batteries as quick as possible. O yea, don't forget to put the drain plug back in, don't ask how I know.

50/50 vinegar and water. Spray on hull and wipe off. To clean the graphs use Windex Multisurface  with Vinegar. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the screens. Speaking of the graphs, I cannot stress enough DO NOT get sun tan lotion on the screen. You'll be buying yourself new graphs. Congrats on the new boat

Thanks for the welcome and tips tander, slonezp, and A-Jay.  Not sure what graphs are--the fish finder screens?   I don't wanna find out about the drain plug I'm sure     303 looks good (and expensive, just when I thought I was finished spending money... more tackle, baits, and stuff to buy).  Found out today gonna have to wait another week for the boat   I'm so anxious!

You can also carry an old towel with you and wipe the boat down with it as soon as you pull it out of the water. Lucas slick mist is also a great product. Quick, simple, affordable.

I used a car wax I had on hand and waxed all surfaces. Made it super easy to do the wipe down once out of the water. Keeps it simple.
