bought 2 packs of Yum Dingers (the guy said they were the exact same thing as senkos???) one pumkin seed with black flake, the other watermelon seed with red flake, both were 5", also bought a grey and red rapala x rap suspending jerk, and 2 Pop-R top waters.  I can't wait to use these new baits, especially the Dingers.  Do you guys know if these are really the same as Senkos?  I have a chrome and blue x-rap, hopefully I'll have better results with the red.  I went fishing last Saturday morning and was introduced to the Pop-R.  I didn't catch anything with it, but the guy i was fishing with caught 5 small mouths, one of them was 4.2 lbs! I couldn't tell that I was doing anything different than he was, except I was using a different color.

There's tons of arguments and threads up about the Senko vs Knock-Offs.

I've fished 3-4 other knock-off senkos, and no none are the EXACT Same, some are softer, some are harder, some have more salt, some have less..

Do they work the same? Go read the other threads about this..

Half the people will tell you Senkos work 100 times better and others will tell you that some knock-offs work, and others don't.

I use * which are stick baits, and in fact, I catch more bass on them then senkos.. Probably just because confidence.

See how you like them.

I used dinngers for the first time today, Yellow / Black worked just as good as a senko for me.

Good luck with the X-RAP, Love those lures but i never had any luck with the blue ones either.

I went fishing with friends the other day, and i was using senkos and he was using yum dingers, and he caught a lot more fish than i did.  While i agree Senkos are by far the best, under certain conditions the knockoffs may work just as well or even better.

When the bite is on, I see no difference in senkos or dingers, or anything else.  When the bite is tough, almost all the knockoffs fail - That's when senkos and tikis rule the day.

Avalon,

I know you know this, but the Tiki is a knockoff.  It works best for you b/c you have confidence in it b/c you throw it.  If one knockoff will work why not others?  IMO the dinger and zero are much closer to a Senko than the Tiki's.  All of them work though.

I was in Academy a couple of days ago and saw a color of dingers that I liked so I bought them.  Pearl something or other I don't remember, looked like a dark baby bass.  First time I had bought any dingers in a few months.  When I fished them on Wed. I noticed they had a slot in the top for the hook point.  I thought that was kinda cool.

thanks guys, i still have senkos on my father's day wish list, so hopefully i will finally get to try out the "real" thing soon.  I've heard sooo much about these baits yet I can't find them at any of my local stores >:o

I'm sorry to hear you haven't had any luck with the silver/blue X-Rap. That one and the hot pink have been BIG producers for me the last two years. This year I've caught most of my smallies on those two lures. Thursday I picked up six smallies on the hot pink X-Rap in about fifteen minutes in a spot I had fished earlier in the morning with a spinnerbait.

All I can say is keep trying that lure, it should work.

I have done alright on it.  I will say I catch about 3:1 ratio of smallies to LMB with this bait.  I wouldn't have bought another one if not.  I just think that the red will be more productive, I haven't caught as much as I expected is what I should have said.

The biggest difference I have noticed with the Yum Dingers is that they feel heavier than the senkos, and the have a faster fall rate.  I have had good success on both the Dingers and the Senkos.  I don't think you will be disappointed with them.
