So i lost my scale last Saturday like a moron, fell out of my kayak somewhere on the way back from the lake in the back of the truck....  That said, only options locally are the run of the mill Rapala/Berkley scales which i'm sure will work fine (in fact the one i lost was a Berkley and worked just fine), but price on the decent looking ones and the AccuCull seem somewhat negligible...  The AccuCull seems highly rated as well.  So should i go ahead and pony up the $35 for one or is there a better/equally effective option for cheaper?

Thanks!

I have this one. It hasn't failed me yet, I've had it about a year. I tested it by weighing several different things like a 5lb bag of popcorn, a 3lb bag of rice, etc and it came up extremely accurate. I'm still wondering "what's the catch," because $8 sounded too good to be true...

hope my wife never finds out about this 5lb bag of popcorn.....  those crumbs will be all over my house!  somehow only like 75% of popcorn pieces actually make it in her mouth, the rest are in the couch cushions or on the floor!

i'll keep an eye on that scale though

I'm sorry @buzzed bait, not to jack your thread, BUT A FIVE POUND BAG OF POPCORN?!

As for a scale, I actually use an old school spring loaded one (that's "close enough" on weight). I've been in the market for a decent digital one as well.

ie: More of a comment so I can follow along to see what other's use!! :)

Lol, I said why the heck not and got one of those three dollar scales from eBay. Been pretty happy with it haha. It weighed this little weigh with precision. It doesn't have a big hook, I need some of those grippers for that

I picked up the fish grip like ajay, in pic above. My scale is the black rapala touch screen. Works great:)

Very nice.

btw - the Accu-Cull Digital Scale is also equipped with a built-in 38" Tape Measure which comes in very handy if you want to also record length & girth.

I have the same setup as A-Jay. Nothing but good things to say about it and the gripper is awesome. I had no idea that the gripper was manufactored near me until I researched them when I was ordering.

My Berkley is in its third season and still going strong.  I also picked up one of the cheap luggage scales as a back-up. Absolutely no complaints with either.

Tight lines,

I bought an Accu-Cull because A-Jay recommended it in a post last year (?).

Have been pleased with it.

I also love my Accu-Cull scales.  The vast majority of these scales are manufactured overseas and then imported.  The great thing about Accu-Cull is the owner stands by his product 100%.  So if you happen to get a bad batch, call him up and he will take care of you.
