Just a reminder. When you saddle a new reel onto a rod to spool it up with line, make sure your dog(s) are in the other room and don't get tangled in the line.

Don't tell me that was one of your custom rods....

Not a custom(thank goodness). But might end up one now.  That was an older model( the better one) BCFR894 GLX.

LOL...sorry, I LOL because I feel your pain.

My dog did pretty much the same thing to me....

It is also scary when getting ready the night
before fishing, tying leaders, and your cat(s)
sneak up silently and start pawing, then clawing
then biting the line you're trying to tie.

I've had to retie a few leaders from that...Not nearly
as painful as the dog breaking your rod tho.

The horror! THE HORROR! Where is the NSFW warning!

I worry more about my cat pawing around. The dogs don't really care but the cat seems to take notice to my shiny hook filled fish shaped lures. I bought lure wraps so she wouldn't accidentally hook herself.

Nothing pulls drag quite like a scared dog. Doesn't sound like there was any hooks involved, so that's a good thing.

Too funny. I lost it thinking about a dog jumping across the living room like a largemouth.

Ouch.  That's painful to look at.  I once had a cat that bit clean through a brand new $70 fly line I was spooling up.

Tight lines,

This reminded me of something you would have to see to believe but I swear it's the truth. My buddy had a horse tied to one of those old, metal swingsets (this was a long time ago). Well it pulled the swingset loose from the ground, it fell over scaring the bejeeses out of the horse, horse takes off down across the yard with entire swingset chasing it, runs into an '82 Monte Carlo, dies right there and totaled the Monte; bent frame. One of those things you just stare, wide mouthed and say "Did that really just happen...."

And sorry to see that rod 00!

I don't understand why GLoomis did that.  I much preferred the older guides and handles to the newer ones.  One of the best rods I had from them was a GLX flippin stick from around 2000.  I broke it in like '07 and the replacement was no where near as nice as the original.  I want to say I paid close to $500 for it back in 2000.  The replacement was less!
