strykr2008 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) I live in north east louisiana and we have a few good lakes here. My favorite lake for bass fishing is located on Barksdale Air Force Base called Flag lake. I have fished it for many years dating back to the 70's. I have done well for the most part except this year we have recieved way to much rainfall and I am afraid that messed up the spawn and I havent had much luck catching bass this spring. Although I have tried many different lures but not much to speak of. Last month or so I caught several using baby brush hog blackberry in color and that seemed to be the only thing I could get them to strike. Have you bass fishermen encountered this same experience in your locations? Edited May 10, 2016 by strykr2008 mispelled a word Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 10, 2016 Super User Posted May 10, 2016 Welcome to the forums! During rising water, I like to throw onto the bank and slowly pull my favorite soft plastic off! The bass are exploring water that is normally not accessible. Give that a try and see how it works! Jeff 2 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted May 10, 2016 Super User Posted May 10, 2016 Welcome aboard! When waters are high here, I've done like Jeff, throw to the bank and go from shallow to deep. TX rigging was highly successful for me during this particular time. Haven't had too many days with swollen conditions like that of recent. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted May 10, 2016 Super User Posted May 10, 2016 Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I'd say stick with it. The bass won't let a little rain interfere with eating & spawning for very long. Neither should you. A-Jay Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 19, 2016 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 19, 2016 Welcome Home! And yes, that's happened to all of us. That's why it's 'fishing' and not 'catching'. Quote
