Good evening all, newbie from Howard County Maryland. 54 year old Redskin and Capitals fan... I am used to disappointment:mellow: Anyway, I have been an on again off again fisherman for many years. There for awhile I was pretty into fishing, had a nice bait casting rod and real but had NO SUCCESS with them so I sold them. I am currently using a Pflueger spinning reel and an Ugly stick rod. I don't see the logic in buying expensive equipment if I have no idea what I am doing. I like using Mepps spinners and Senkos, I have tried plastic worms but have never had any success. Gave up on them but want to give them another try. I'm looking forward reading and learning. Any advice given would be greatly appreciated.

BassResource is an excellent resource. There's so many videos online you can learn as many techniques as you want. I prefer finesse fishing over power fishing, but down here in Florida I'm definitely in the minority with finesse fishing. Regarding UglyStiks, I started that way, too. However, I am currently upgrading my rods from those UglyStiks to other mfrs. UglyStik is very durable, but not so sensitive. Try not to spend tooooooo much money, like I did. I'm a tackle junkie. Best of luck to you.
