Drunks and teenagers.

Doctors, nurses, EMTs, plant managers, cops, firemen, factory workers, security guards, and anyone else that works the night shift. Know your neighbors and treat them kindly. Too many Americans have become so self centered they can't see past their own little worlds. Hello!?! There are other people in the world!

Sorry, sounds like I was ranting again...

In short, the best time to mow the grass is when it needs it – keeping in mind the 1/3 rule and one should mow in the evenings to reduce stress on the grass.

Yep,that keeps me awake at night worrying that my grass was stressed.:D:D

I don't think you are ranting. Most of my jobs have been second or third shift. I don't like people mowing the lawn before noon around me. Now if it is the weekend I don't care, but not at 9am on a Wednesday. If they do. I will mow the lawn at 5am on a Saturday.

I'm still trying to get passed the sleeping until noon bit.  Who does that?

I am 30 and still do. I usually work a 2nd or 3rd shift job. I am some what working a "normal" time job, but I miss working after dark.

I don't have time to drink. I bet I am the most sober Irish and German person you will ever meet.

I also work midnights. I sleep 10AM-6PM, or try to anyways if I'm not busy doing stuff. I can sleep through anything most days, but every once in awhile the neighbors mower or a car alarm will get me.

I'd be willing to take that bet. Not that I don't like having a drink once in awhile, but the time I can do it never jives with anyone else's, and drinking alone just feels sad.

I landscape for extra cash and mow 3 lawns a week. I generally don't mow before 8 on a weekday. On the weekend, I give people the courtesy and don't mow before noon. I work thirdshift so I know all about sleeping during the day and how annoying noise can be.

My noise law is from 8am - 10pm.

Same Gos for me. Well on the sleeping part. Some times my own farts will wake me. As for the drinking part. This is WI. Many bars are open at 6am. You can also buy booze at around the same time from a gas station. Yes I have been in bars at 6am, and have drank booze. Before many people start their day.

As for drinking alone. Is it really drinking alone if the dog is there? My dog liked Gunniess and high life. He didn't like jack and coke though.

I have always been comfortable with 9AM on weekends...both by me and by my neighbors.  Somewhat arbitrary, but it has always felt like a 'reasonable standard'.  On the other hand, I have a next door neighbor who I know is currently working a shift ending at 5AM.  I cut the grass in the evenings now.

One of the nice things about moving to one of Florida's many retirement communities is that chores such as lawn mowing and landscaping etc. are HOA's responsibility.

Hey, there have to be some perks for getting old.  :ok-wink:

i cut my grass whenever i feel like it but it is rarely before 8.  I figure my closest neighbor likes to start his harley and let it warm up for about 30 minutes whenever he rides and those hours are all over the map.

And on a side note, aren't harley's air cooled and it probably not be the best idea to let them warm up for that length of time?

Oh, and if a person complains about me cutting my grass when i decide to cut it, I would smile and say ok not a problem, when would you be available to come cut it then.

It won't hurt it. I've sat in traffic longer than that with my previous Harley running. It's not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. However, the bike is fine.

I live out in the woods. There are no noise restrictions out here. Hence why you can hear those good ol boys down the street running their dogs all night. With the occasional gunshot mixed in. I don't miss the city one bit.

Perhaps I should have stated the obvious, other than people that work night shifts.  My stepson works at Tesla, one of his weekly shifts starts at 6 pm.
