Fishin' Fool Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I'm going to hell for sure. Here it is Mother's Day weekend coming up. You'd think I'd be shopping for gifts for my wife and mom. Nope I've ordered a rod, reel and some worms and jigheads to start trying a Shaky head worm. I got the bug bad.... 2 Quote

Greater powers prevented me from going to Bass Pro last night during one of my sons' soccer tryouts...I was destined for some fluorocarbon and hooks...but no. I need to shop for my wife.... 2 Quote

loudcherokee Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I always ask my mom what she's getting me for mothers day. After all, if it weren't for me she wouldn't be a mother! She has actually asked me to take her fishing on Sunday so it's a win-win for me. I'll buy her fishing license and respool her reel with fresh mono and pick up fresh bait. She's looking forward to it. LC 2 Quote

bassguytom Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Hey my wife's not my mom right! Just kidding happy wife happy life. You got to play the game brother. Life's a chess game and I'm Bobby fisher when it comes to fishing. I'll be doing the Mother's Day thing along with my kids this Sunday So I can have her in checkmate for the rest of the season. 1 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Go all out on mother's day ( even though it's just a hallmark holiday), that way you might earn some brownie points so you can go fishing more often.. I personally hate mother's day, fathers day, and Valentine's day because they were created to make this expectation from the mother's and wives that they will receive a card (from hallmark of course) and dinner out. But you gotta play to the ump, and if the wife ain't happy then nobody is. 1 Quote
atcoha Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I've done similar before...once... I got my wife a nice gift from me and the kids, and she bought something else she wanted, even called to ask me if it's ok... My wife is the most unselfish person I have known. And she knows, she does not have to ask me anything ever about spending $, especially on herself. She just does not do it...sometimes to a fault. I am a lucky man, and our kids know they could not ask for a better mother. Spend the $ on your honey, surprise her with something nice that she will always remember. It does not have to be a $4k wedding band upgrade, but whatever you have to do to let her know she is always on your mind and in your heart. You never know what tomorrow will bring... Good luck my friend. 2 Quote
