Sun Dolphin Pro 102

I am looking at buying a small boat for pond and watershed fishing.  I have been looking at the Pro 102 and Pro 120, and possibly the Pelican Predator 103.  The ponds would all probably under 2 acres and the watershed is around 25 acres.  My preference is to stay with 102 or the Predator due to tight access to some of the waters that we will be fishing.  Most of the time there will be two of us fishing but at times I may fish alone. 

Have any of you fished out of these before?  Can you fish standing?

Hello Greg and welcome to the forums. 

Of the 3 you listed, I'd stick with the Sun Dolphin products as the layouts are better, and give you the ability to add more if you choose. Both the 102 and 120 would be great boats in any small body of water. I used to have a 102 back when it was called a Bass Tender 10.2. Same exact boat and I caught a lot of fish out of it growing up, including my PB. If you can afford the difference, I'd go with the 120 as the added storage is a nice addition. You are able to stand and fish in them. They're more stable than most jon boats up to about 16' because they are wider. Overall they're great little boats and there are many times I wish I could have kept mine for some of the really small lakes around me. I don't think you could go wrong with either of those.

If money is a concern, Pelican Bass Raider 10e is recommended by me. And they usually go on sale from Academy or Dick's this month (May). Also, you can sometimes pick up a good used one (or similar style) cheap on CL. Light enough to launch from a pickup truck bed (with no trailer) if you are reasonably strong. You can stand okay to stretch your legs. If you want to stand all the time, probably not for you.

WIGuide got it right.

To the other folks, the OP doesn't seem to be interested in the "bass raider" type boats (square, mostly flat, with shallow gunwales)...but specifically in several models having more of a traditional boat-type hull like this image of the Sun Dolphin Pro 120 that he mentioned:

I've had all three models of the basstender, which is the older version. The 11.3 was a great boat, which is similar to the 120. The "room" you need to launch is really no different for these boats. Weight however, is a draback. I think my bssstrender was close to 250 ppuss dry. If you're not using a trailer, the 120 is heavy, but can be done with two guys on flat ground. My opinion is, if you can handle the weight of the 120, that's the best choice.

Thanks for the input guys, I have been looking for a used Jon Boat for a while to build a pond/watershed boat out of, then I ran across these.  Just thought they might be another option to look at.  It looks like I will be expanding my search to include the Pro 120.  Any of the boats that I end up with will have a trailer, just because it would make it easier.
