I am trying out a Lowrance X85 and need to know what the most common settings are that you use to locate your fish.

Manual mode? Automatic mode? Fish ID on or off? Sensitivity?

Gimme some help fellas....thanks!

You want to go to manual setting adjust grayline over where you know theres a road bed or a ramp

until you see a double echoe of bottom there is an example in the instruction manual next adjust sesitivity till you start seeing surface clutter and turn fish id off

I manually adjust mine as the day progresses.

Here's a good starting point:

  • Disable "Auto depth range"
  • Disable "Auto Sensitivity"
  • Set the ASP to "Low"
  • Set the "Surface Clarity" to "low"
  • Select the sensitivity option and adjust this down to between 50 and 80 (may need to adjust throughout the day)
  • Select the "Depth Range" option, and choose a depth slightly lower than your current depth.  You'll probably need to adjust as the day goes on.
  • Finally, exit out of the menus and choose "Pages" and set it to the split screen mode.

That's it!!
