Nice. Hard for me to justify but I'd consider selling my '12 Ant to help fund one if it's truly excellent. Looking forward to the report.

Sweet acquistion. They did away with the conventional cast control on this one.

I hope he got two of them. It takes two to chock my boat trailer in his driveway, or else it rolls down the hill.

Well John since you brought it up, I was going to surprise you but I had second thoughts and got you two 18000's thinking they will work better......

So if I am not mistaken the new Antares DC is just a shade over 7 ounces if I am doing the conversion correctly? Also it appears that the frame is a bit smaller and hopefully more palmable over the previous generation Antares DC?

When it arrives if you could take a few photos of it next the older Antares and also confirm the weight.

Of course I want to know the casting capabilities of the reel, but I think that goes without saying!:D

I bet that thing is awesome. I have a Scorpion Antares with the magnesium spool for my spinner bait reel and it's ridiculous. The new ones have to be killer!
