I have multiple pairs of Wiley X sunglasses and shooting glasses.

Besides the great polarization, I love how all Wiley X glasses are impact rated and many are even Ballistic rated.

So if you miss on the hook set and a big jig comes back and drills you in the face, at least your eyes are protected.

You've got a good point. A hook to the eye could ruin your day.

Ive had close to this happen and very thankful I had good glasses on at the time. Went to grab bass out of the water and jig came loose and hit me directly in the middle of the lens. Knocked my glasses off and hat but no damage to my eye

I've owned or currently own a couple pairs of Wiley X, several pairs of Oakley's, several pairs of Costa's, and one not listed which is a pair of Revo sunglasses. I never could find a pair of Oakley's that I liked. The finish always wore off quickly from the frames and looked terrible. Wiley X frames don't fit my fat head right so I always ended up with a headache. I love my Costa's, especially since I finally splurged on some of the glass lenses and found a pair that really fits well. I like the Revo glasses I have really well too because they also fit very well.

I'd like to try some Maui Jim's at some point but they're pretty expensive to just buy a pair to try.

Any good pair of glasses that have a glass lens are coated and I'll crack but won't blow apart. I was riding my Harley and had a rock fly up from the car in front of me going down the highway at 65. Well it hit me dead enter of my left eye and it did ruin the lens, but nothing came apart and no glass in my eye. One benefit of glass is it won't scratch like plastic will.

I had a pair of Costas with the blue lens and they were nice. I went to the Costa site and it said the silver mirror lens was good for cloudy days and sight fishing. As much as I love the glasses Im not impressed with the clarity of the silver mirror, the blue lenses are better but I feel there is something better out there. I do a lot of pond hoping and bank fishing and been look at the Oakley Prizm lenses but hesitant to waste the money and be disappointed.

I have a set of Oakley flak jackets with deep blue iridium polarized angling lenses. Great for open water and sunny days. I also have a set of emerald green iridium polarized Oakley Bottle caps. I use those for overcast-med sunlight days.

I just got some costas and compared them to my roommate's s11s... The difference is unbelievable! Obviously it should be for the price, but still, I was very impressed with how much better the costas are. They say wearing costas is like "seeing in HD," which sounds cheesy, but that's actually very accurate. I could also see deeper into the water. I'd say go try some on at least. They are expensive though.

Thanks j bab.  I had the opportunity to try on some Costas at a BPS this weekend.  Loved the feel of the Fisch frame, and also got to feel the weight difference between plastic and glass lenses.  The glass was not nearly as heavy and I thought they'd be. Now it's just a matter of deciding what color lens and pulling the trigger...

For most bass fishing, according to my experience and research, silver mirror or green mirror are best. Silver would be better on a cloudy day and green for a more sunny day. So you have to weigh the options: is it better for them to be a little dark in cloudy conditions or to be not quite dark enough in extremely sunny conditions... I personally went with silver mirror, I like them so far but I haven't had them long enough to really say

Cool, thanks.  I've been leaning towards silver mirror.

I have a pair of Ray Bans because I got them as a prescription, I'm blind as a bat without a prescription.  If I had no prescription, I'd go Oakley all the way.

You can now have your prescriptions put in Oakley
