OK indulge me. I have this fantasy where I win the lottery and so can buy a boat and vehicle to drive round fishing all the cool places around America. Boat is pretty much sorted as a Lund 1875 Pro Bass XS, but the question is what to tow with? I imagine staying in campgrounds rather than motels, so need to tow my home as well. Do I need a 350 size truck with a slide on camper, an RV or some other solution? How would you do it?

If I had that kind of money, I would just fly from place to place, stay in luxurious hotels, and hire guides. After all, guides need to make a living, too and who knows their home water better? If you are going to dream, why not dream big?

This is the way I'd do it too. Win the lottery and still stay in campgrounds? Not me. I wouldn't get a tin boat either. A nice Ranger or a Bass Cat for me.

But if you had all the time you wanted to go fishing then you could enjoy the challenge of finding the fish and working out how to get them. That is the real fun part of fishing that keeps me going. Catching is great and important, but catching without doing the work is a slightly hollow victory.

I dislike hotels. Never really feel comfortable in them. You're always slightly in the way of the people working there. They want to come in a fiddle with your bed or something else unnecessary every day. Much happier staying in a campground or an apartment somewhere. I can tidy up for myself.

To me the Lund is perfect. It should handle rougher water better than most bass rigs and it has space in the cockpit for a partner fishing with you to put his tackle bag. Normal bass layouts are excellent for the angler, but the co angler never has any space for their stuff. Fishing with someone is fun, so might as well make them comfortable.

Talk to me about slide in campers! :) This is my fantasy and I'm enjoying it.

Couldnt agree more with this!!!... Id rather catch nothing myself than have someone practically catch them for me!

The lotto... My dream... I want my own lake!... Maybe 2, one here in my home state (Texas) and one in the wife's home state (Colorado)

But since youre talking road trips, id have to visit Alaska again... Lived there for a few months when i was 14, my kinda place!!!.... Cant pull my boat behind a plane, so youd see me in an rv... Gonna need 2 boats, a pontoon if the family is going, and..... Hmm.... Ive fished my little jon boat so long, i don't even know what id buy for me if i had the $$$...?

A smaller rv i would think is what id get, you know the ones that are just a bit bigger than a fully extended van. That way you could crash at a rest area if you had too in route from say,..... lake of the woods to lake of the ozarks. Of course it would have to have the toy carrier section in the back for the harley.,...

Not that i ever dreamed of it,...lol

Simple.....Alfred would pull the houseboat with my personal Peterbilt and Jeeves would pull the bass boat with my 3500 Silverado King Cab. I would arrive later by personal jet and drive my Ferrari down to the dock!

My most enduring fishing fantasy has been one where I live on a mountain with cold streams full of trout.

the streams run into a river loaded with smallmouth

In the valley is a lake full of lmb.

It's all surrounded by woods full of deer.

And I own it all.

I'm certain that if there is a heaven this is what it looks like
