Studied up on this type of retrieve for a few months. Put it into action in Georgia a couple of weeks ago. Boy is that a fun way to fish, and flat out produces results. I'll always go to a shaky head when I'm wanting to throw a worm first from now on.

The shaky head is a favorite finesse technique for me, I use it more than a drop shot because it covers water better. It also has helped me in tough situations and it was the first finesse technique that was responsible for me catching my first largemouth in water temps under 40 degrees. I've caught smallmouth in 34 degree water with slush pools near the banks but I never caught a largemouth with the water temp under 42 degrees and in 2012 I caught 3 nice ones on a 1/16oz shaky head with a 4.5" finesse worm and every year since I've been able to get largemouth consistently in those water temps with that presentation.

Shaky head is where I had my first good day of catching numbers for bass!  It was an Owner Ultrahead with a 5" Baby Bass GYCB senko!
