Lures with swinging treble hooks will snag weeds, even square bills.

if you want a reaction style lures and fishing weeds try a swim jig. Scrounger jig with a soft plastic Fluke or Sluggo will go thru almost anything and creates a reaction bite.

I am using a 1/2 ounce red eye shad

Despite the name "lipless" they do dive!

Switch to a Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap they run shallower

Drop down to a 1/4 oz

Hold your rod tip at 11:30 or 12:00 oClock & reel fast

Shallow square bills, or 1/4 ounce lipless. If you are ripping traps through grass, you need braid.
