TedderX Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The chatterbaits I've bought so far come with a two-tailed trailer. I guess it's a type of tube. Is that the best trailer to be using with it? Quote
PennBass Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I've found that the original trailer works fine, but sometimes switching it up can produce more fish. Try a fluke, trickworm, swimbait, grub, craw, basically any soft plastic and see what works best on your body of water. I'd personally recommend the Zman Razor Shadz: it's incredibly durable (still using the same one I put on months ago) and since it's segmented it's action is crazy. Quote
BassThumb Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Pretty hard to beat a Zoom Swimming Chunk or Berkley Havoc Grass Pig for the price. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted April 27, 2016 Super User Posted April 27, 2016 Basically any swim bait. I usually use a hand poured from a friend or some keitechs Quote
XzyluM Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I will use everything from creatures to swimbaits. But one of my favorites has become a pit boss rigged sideways. Quote
beardown34 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 this month i've had good success using as trailer: - chatterfrog legs - caffeine shad - pit boss - twin tail grub i haven't seen much correlation -- using a small paddletail or a pit boss which is bulkier -- i've caught some small fish on the pit boss and some reasonable ones with smaller trailers. DCales84 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Try using a Berkley Havoc Devil Spear. The smaller version fits on the back of a chatterbait very well and produce a ton of action. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 27, 2016 Global Moderator Posted April 27, 2016 Pitboss or Rage Menace rigged sideways, like this. Zman Diesel Minnow 2/3 of a stick O or trick worm. BPS Speed Shad or Swizzle Stick. 5 Quote
tander Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Mostly I use the Zoom Twin Tail but also use a swimbait. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 27, 2016 Super User Posted April 27, 2016 Lately, I have been using a Zoom fat albert. 1 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted April 27, 2016 Super User Posted April 27, 2016 5 inch single tail grub or 4inch paddle style trailer. 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted April 27, 2016 Super User Posted April 27, 2016 This one but don't quote me because I will deny any involvement in giving away privileged information : it will look like this: But remember, I didn't say anything 1 Quote
blckshirt98 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 5" single tail grub is my usual choice! Cheap and easy to source matching colors! Quote
Super User burrows Posted April 28, 2016 Super User Posted April 28, 2016 I think for me the best results are from the original trailer that they come with also a robo worm. I don't have much success with a bulky trailer. Quote
lakeannaangler Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Zoom swimming fluke and berkley havoc deuce Quote
bentron Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I didn't have a trailer the other day so i just cut a baby brush hog in half and cut vs in the little fins. Actually worked quite well. Quote
DaleGribble Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Ive always been a fan of Keitech swing impacts but recently ive been liking the Bruiser Baits Evil Twin 1 Quote
Mr Swim Jig Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 You can basically use any type of trailer on a chatterbait....my preferred trailers are Reaction Innovations Skinny Dippers and Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper. Quote
blckshirt98 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Hmmm, I wonder if I could cut those Rage Menaces right down the middle and turn them into 2 dropshot baits... Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 30, 2016 Super User Posted April 30, 2016 Zoom swimmin' chunk, Mr. Twister Split Double Tail, LFT Live Magic Boot Tail Shad, or Missile Baits Twin Tail. Quote
Big Swimbait Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I also like the Lake Fork Live Magic Shad, especially without the skirt. Quote
Nathan Burton Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Zoom super fluke or Keitech swing impact fat. Quote
