Anyone have any experience with Peppers custom lures spinner baits? I'm looking to pick up some new spinner baits and ran across this brand. I have been buying super cheap store brand spinners for the past few years and I want to buy something that is actually quality for once.

Any info is appreciated.

Love the quality of their lures, and they've always produced for me (esp. the Open Water Assassin). I've had some issues with the skirt band falling off after a while, so I usually get some braid/wire and hand-tie it so it stays on better.

If the $1 Walmart spinners are working fine, then I don't really see a need to change: it's not like the fish can tell that much of a difference.

Thanks for the info! While the cheap one semi work i am just tired of the terrible color selection. Academy loves chartreuse and honestly i'm not the biggest fan.

I have used some Peppers spinnerbaits a few years back. The only thing I didn't like is that I felt like the wire was a little stiff, which in my opinion reduces the vibration and action. I now use Sick Custom Baits spinnerbaits and destroy fish on them pretty much all year.

My Walmart was carrying the Pepper Custom Spinnerbaits for $5.95 I think but for some reason clearanced them all out at $3 each. I bought every one. They are 10 times the quality of the Walmart $1 ones. Blades spinn so easy and smooth.

Also they have the bait holder for a soft plastic trailer behind the head of the bait. Something many do not have.

As far as the wire being heavy killing vibration I haven't noticed any measurable difference in production. I haven't took any calipers to them but I'm guessing it's a .032 or .035 wire and feels quite limber comparing to the Mepps and Walmart ones I have.

I have to say I like them a lot. Priced reasonable for a quality bait.

Pepper spinnerbaits and pepper jigs are the best of the best in both lure types. Just have great materials, action, and flat out catch fish. No company makes better but some other companies still make great ones.
