Has anyone fished Loch Lothian in Midlothian at the Midlo Mines Park? I've looked on their website and there is no mention of fishing. It's a short distance up the road from me so I was thinking of checking it out. As a bank fisherman, I'm very limited on my spots to fish at until I invest in a kayak and roof rack for the car.

No. Give it a try and let us know how you do.

And don't forget the Salisbury ponds on Mondays, when the course is closed.

Have you hit the pond at the end of Lucks Lane?

Powhatan Lakes is fun to fish but don't count on catching a lot.

Hit the big pond behind Martin's on Huguenot Road on weekends. The tree bank is the best but of course the most difficult to fish.

The street that the Midlo library is on has a big pond. Look it up on a map and give it a shot. Can't recall it name but it starts with a W and it dead ends onto 288.

Have fun!

The last pond is Loch Lothian on Woolridge Road.

Never head of much action at this pond but you try it and give us an update.

Will do! I had no idea Salisbury ponds was accessible on Monday when the course is closed. That pond you mentioned near the Midlo Library, I've seen it. It's man-made though as it hasn't been there too long. I wonder if there is anything in there. The Luck's Lane pond is definitely on my list already. Thanks for the suggestions!

Go to the Lake off Southlake, down Midlothian.  I fished that Walton park lake as well, seem to be little fish, also it is a fairly shallow lake.

I managed to pull out a fairly decent bass from it yesterday. Maybe 1lb or slightly less. It's really shallow so this came from a longer cast out to the middle on a rubber worm.

Hey rvafishing, I used to live in Midlothian and fished it for a few years. It was basically drained a few years ago when they were doing all the construction and renamed it. It used to hold a few decent largemouth and some solid channel cats. I really haven't heard much at all about it since it was refilled, but I'm guessing it won't have too strong of a population yet unless they stocked it. I never heard if they did or not.

Southlake is decent too, as WdyCrankbait said. I never caught many numbers there, but I caught a few in three trips there. All were between 2.5 and 5.5 pounds though.

Dang, had no idea. The water seems extremely shallow. One of the bridges is dry. It looked like the main pond connected to the lower pond at one point where that bridge is.

I'll have to look up Southlake. Never heard if it and have no idea where it is though. I roughed it out on the James today and caught my new PB which was amazing.

Look up Southlake Boulevard on Google Maps. The pond is over by the DMV across the street from NAPA

Nice! Where did you go on the James?

Yes, the bridge at the back of "Loch Lothian" (seems weird for me to call it that now haha) used to have water on both sides of it. I used to fish back there a good bit.

Will do! I'll definitely check it out.

I went to Robious landing park on the James. I was fishing the main dock by the boat ramp right along the shore and caught this pig!

Nice man! I went there a couple times but never had any kind of luck. Good chunky fish.

Definitely check out Southlake for sure. The fish I caught there were all on a chatterbait and shaky head worm in the summer. Sent you a message about another spot around that area too.

I used to fish this place before they drained it...back on the bridge...all you could catch catfish. This was looking towards the back. Caught bass off that bridge too, and crappie closer to the road.

This thread interests me.  I'm no more than 10 minutes away from Southlake and I have great luck at Robious Landing Park/Watkins Landing.  Where is the best place to park to fish Southlake?  Shore fishing only I imagine?  I never knew there was a lake over there!  I was at the DMV just yesterday and parked in the back where the lake appears to be on google maps.

I found my answer in another thread.  Big thanks to Sam and WdyCrankbait for sharing so much info in various places on local fishing areas!

There are some good fish in Southlake!  I've popped a couple of 3 lbers.  Black and blue senko to the right of the "land penninsula," just left of the really shallow cove.  If you need more directions message me.

Has anyone fished the other 2 ponds on Southlake Blvd about a half mile or so on the left? Looks really juicy, one sits behind some warehouse with No Trespassing signs and the other belongs to super Radiator Coils.
