DBL000006 Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 When it comes to Bait Casting Reels. I use left hand only. I love to Pitch and fish shallow water. I want a Faster Gear Ratio. The only Reel i found in a 7. Plus Gear ratio (also on a budget with spending) is this Daiwa. I know spend 40 bucks more. I feel from what i've seen and felt. The Daiwa seems like the best for the money I'll be spending. People have Experience with Daiwas, give your best feedback on this reel, and on Daiwas. Quote
Super User Raul Posted April 24, 2016 Super User Posted April 24, 2016 I don't have any experience with that Daiwa in particular, I do own a "few" Daiwa reels. Quote
lecisnith Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I have two in the 6.4:1. Couldn't be happier, especially being able to buy them at $60. Quote

lecisnith Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I got one on monster and another at Gander Mountain. Don't think either of them have the deal currently, though. https://www.*.com/ Only one they have is the 6.3:1 (not 6.4, my mistake...) in left hand. Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 DSG or Gander Mountain - can't remember which - had them on sale for $60 a little while back. I picked Up the EXE100HSA, which is the 7.3:1. I've had it out several times and really like it. Casts great, feels smooth, drag feels good. Functions as well as many of the higher end $200+ reels I own. I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on buying one, even at the regular price of $100. Quote

I think that's a steal. 1 Quote

Paid that for my used Tat. Excellent price new. I like the Type R a bit more. Not because it performs any better, but because I like its looks more and like the higher gear ratio. Quote
JustinU1X Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Got mine for $90. Worth every penny. A quality reel with good components. If you can get it under $100 it's a steal. The only gripe some people have is palming it. Quote

Especially if you wrap your whole hand around the reel like I do. I have slightly large hands too. Quote
