The stupid garage door opener died today at about 5 as I was beginning to prepare for the Bass Resource Road Trip.

after some troubleshooting....ran to Home Depot and grabbed a new one.

had it up and working in an hour.

this was the fastest/easiest diy project the wife and I have ever done!

we put one up last year on the new rear garage door......but that was after we cut the wall out and installed a new garage door opening at the rear of the garage so I can just back the boat straight into the backyard under the carport.

Kind of proud of last years big project:

My wife wants to put another garage door on the back of our garage so that we can open it and use the space for entertaining back by the pool.  It seems like a great idea until we lose all my storage space for my tools.  I told her and pole barn would solve that problem.

Nice work looks good

I always tell people to buy a bigger garage opener then they need.

People try to buy the cheapest one they can get away with and inevitably they end up having problems with them

BnC. Nice looking job.

I have a Liftmaster 1/2 hp  chain drive with 14 years  on it to operate a 16' insulated door.  It has two torsion springs to assist. One very minor adjustment required. That's it.

We use that way to exit /enter the house 95% of the time.

Smart move Chris. Boats easy to get at and you still have all the garage space.

Good job.  I got in the habit of leaving the house through the garage, so I quit bringing the house key with me when I went somewhere.  I got home from fishing and the opener wouldn't work.  I had to wait about an hour for my wife to come home so she could let me in.
