Airman4754 Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Second large mouth trip of the year. We had a good day. Overall we landed 20 fish or so with the smallest around 2lbs. My buddy caught a great 3.5lb bass and I hooked into this 7.4lb momma. Great great fish for this area. We hooked all but a few on M3 Roboworms, but all the bigger ones were on a jig rig with a Rage Space Monkeys. 18 Quote
hookset on 3 Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wowsa! Dude that's like catching a 12 or 13 pounder in FL or CA. There are many bass fisherman up in the PNW that will never even see a 7 plus pounder live and in person. Exceptional Catch. Quote

I've caught a lot of fish over 5lbs here but getting over the 6lb range is tough. That's kind of the crux of being really big here is that 6lb mark which is lame in a lot of states. These northern strain fish just don't weight out very well. The 6.4 I caught a couple weeks ago was 23" and this one today was 26". My PB is from a little local lake that has Florida strain with an absolutely unthinkable amount of food for them and it was 8.1 at 22". Oh well, it's still a lot of fun. 1 Quote

Last_Cast Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Makes sense. Looks like you were geared up for a blizzard. Nice catches! Quote
avidone1 Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I saw some rage baits at the bps by me last week. was tempted to buy some because they look so good and y'all here seem to do well with them. The only thing that stopped me was the 40 or so bags of soft plastics I already have. LOL.....now I don't mind having way more bass baits than I could possibly use, but I just got done culling my baits and donating to police kids fishing program, so I'm a little hesitant about re building the bait stocks so soon. No worries, this feeling will soon pass and Mr. bait monkey will be honored. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 2, 2016 Super User Posted May 2, 2016 Right now you need to try the Rage Structure Bug, Rage Hawg, Craw, Lizard and Menace. I 'm sure the Police Kids will appreciate another donation! 1 Quote
