Josh Smith Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Pepsi, That's what I'd hoped. PM me your address and I will send you some soft plastics and maybe some other goodies. What kind of rod(s) and reel(s) do you have? I don't want to send anything that will overload your gear. Josh 1 Quote

I remember when I was a kid I'd take out and fish the ponds and streams all day, and aside from the one lure I had tied on (usually an inline spinner) I might carry an extra 1 or 2 lures along just in case I got snapped off. I bet there were summers as a young teen where I fished the whole season on less than 5 lures. You don't need to invest a pile of money on tackle to enjoy this sport. To hear you say that you may just give up til next year sounds silly. Keep things simple. Just grab 1 or 2 lures that you have confidence in and enjoy the act of fishing. I am not planning on calling it quits forever, just till next year, I feel frustrated and overwhelmed. It makes me anxious right now to even think about going out o the water. Thanks for the tips though 1 hour ago, Josh Smith said: Pepsi, That's what I'd hoped. I would be willing to send you a package that may help motivate you to get back on the saddle if you are interested?  I am interested let me know how much you need 1 hour ago, Josh Smith said: Pepsi, That's what I'd hoped. Similar to what I did here.   Thanks you didnt have to do that Quote

S. Sass Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 I'll put some stuff together tonight and get with ya. No money needed. I think people are more willing to help because you did not ask outright for freebies. Had you started that way I would have never responded most likely. 2 Quote
Josh Smith Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Pepsi, No biggie. Send me your address and I'll send stuff. I have a (non-fishing-related) business, so I'll throw a logo or something in there and we can call it a promotion, if that helps. Just take it, man! :) If I thought you were trying to get free stuff, I wouldn't offer. Just tell me what weights you fish. Josh 2 Quote

Super User burrows Posted April 23, 2016 Super User Posted April 23, 2016 My tackle was stolen out of my truck before its sad and depressing. I had to start over missed a season. But I started back up by filling up a 3700 with square bills then just continued filling 3700s and now I can honestly say that I built up my arsenal even better than before. 1 Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 24, 2016 Super User Posted April 24, 2016 I had a loser steal all my gear as well..20+ years of stuff. I made a decent comeback, my garage now looks like a jdm marketplace. I also filled up the losers washing machine with a bag of rock salt and let it run. 1 Quote

Kevin22 Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 My best advice is to go to walmart and buy a pack of eagle claw 3/16 worm weights (0.97), a pack of eagle claw 4/0 worm hooks (1.97), a pack of yum dingers (2.99) and a pack of zoom craws $2.99). That will let you go fishing for less than 10 bucks and will catch a bass anywhere there are... bass. Find a nice shady spot to bank fish and relax. Quote

If you're renting, not sure if renter's insurance will. I don't see why homeowner's insurance would be liable to cover the accidental loss of something that occurred far away from the home. That would really jack up the cost of insurance! This is from Allstate insurance. "You are headed on vacation to the Caribbean and realize two hours into your flight that you left your camera under a chair in the airport. When you land, you call the airport and the airline, but your camera is nowhere to be found. That may leave you wondering whether your homeowners or renters insurance will cover the loss. You'll likely find that a standard policy for a home, condo or rental property doesn't provide coverage for lost items. Instead, those policies typically cover specific risks, known as perils. So while a camera or other items you own may be covered if they are stolen or damaged in a fire, that coverage typically won't extend to belongings that you lose or misplace." Quote

jitterbug127 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I'd I had to start over and needed to keep it cheap id say fish the 3 water columns. Top, middle and bottom Spook in bone is my favorite top water Square Bill in shad pattern 1.5 size And senko in green pumpkin for Texas rigs, c dog, drop shot etc. So versatile If you didmt want to use crankbait I'd get chatterbait.  I do lots it my fishing with just a spook, chatterbait and senko. They are a great combo to cover lots of needs. Quote
