Biggz53 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I recently put in a custom portable Helix 5 SI. I have a portable transducer bracket. I have it marked out with sharpie to make sure it is level when put on the boat every time. My trolling motor is on the left of the transducer however my side imagine shows the right side much darker than the left. I cant figure it out at all. Im hoping I dont need to send out for a new transducer as the tourney season is picking up. Anyone seen something like this before or have any suggestions? Quote
racedad Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Sounds as though your reading either propwash or the shadow of the TM. Not sure if you can correct this in its current location. Quote

TM is on left of transducer, left side of return shows perfectly 2 minutes ago, Wayne P. said: Post a picture of your setup for analysis. Will do tomorrow. It's up front with the TM since it's a cartopper. If say about 12-18 inches to the right of the TM. I'll post pictures tomorrow evening Quote

Got a point there. I'm pretty new here, but Wayne seems to be the guru on these birds. I may have to request from him a live tutoring on these since I have the Helix 5 si as well and he only lives about an hour and a half from me. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 The lefts side is bouncing off the trolling motor and then going to right side of boat and bouncing back to right side td. This is common when Big motor is blocking TD on a transome mount 1 Quote
kking Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 My onix did the same thing. Put on a diff transducer and still did it. Sent it back and they fixed it. Quote
