Super User iabass8 Posted April 21, 2016 Super User Posted April 21, 2016 Anybody like these? Each year it seems like the top of my hands get burned and I know I should be wearing sungloves but never do. Im looking at the simms sun gloves right now but am open to others.
Nick B Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I use Glacier gloves, they work great and don't get in the way. 2
Ersteman Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I was in the same spot you were in 2 years ago. I bought the Simms gloves and thought they were a bit pricy, but they really have been worth it. I don't fish all that much, but I still have them and use them almost everytime I go out. They are thin and flexable and prevent me from getting burned. 100% worth it and highly recommend them. 1
RichF Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I've been using Simms' sun gloves for the past couple years. They're great. Been wanting to try Under Armour's glove as well.
Super User Cgolf Posted April 21, 2016 Super User Posted April 21, 2016 I bought a pair of cabelas gloves last year and a pair of buff gloves this year. All I can say is that they work, last year I went with the gloves, the face buff and a sun shirt and I did not get burned on my week long trip for the first time ever where I spent at least 12 hours a day on the water. Only downside is the hook catches on them once in a while, but the upside is no sunburn. Upside wins!
Super User MickD Posted April 21, 2016 Super User Posted April 21, 2016 both Simms and glacier gloves are very comfortable, long-lasting, and effective. A big store brand failed in my first week's use of them. Simms and Glacier for me now.
Wbeadlescomb Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Seems like a waste of money to me. I'm outside working way more than I am fishing
Super User 00 mod Posted April 21, 2016 Super User Posted April 21, 2016 I like the mangrove brand gloves! Jeff 2
Super User BassinLou Posted April 21, 2016 Super User Posted April 21, 2016 I have been wearing Columbia's sun gloves for a while now, don't even know I have them on. 1

Super User Jrob78 Posted April 21, 2016 Super User Posted April 21, 2016 I've used the Mangrove gloves and the Glacier Gloves, (both with the "leather" palms.) I honestly really like both pair. It's so nice not having to deal with burnt hands.

I don't want a glove that hangs off or around the fingers. I'd prefer a fit similar to a face buff. I'm leaning Simms as all my sun clothing is pretty much SImms as well.
Wbeadlescomb Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 You wear them everytime you are out during the daylight hours iabass?

Super User Darren. Posted April 22, 2016 Super User Posted April 22, 2016 So if I may ask, not to hijack @iabass8's thread, but perhaps add to the discussion, because I'm curious about them as well. Are sun gloves and the sort "cool" in the summer heat?
Super User tomustang Posted April 22, 2016 Super User Posted April 22, 2016 cooler than burnt hands 3 hours ago, iabass8 said: an find both locally which is a plus. You might as well stick with Simms to match. I haven't have luck trying on glacier gloves and them being consistent with size, their finger lengths were always off compared to the next pair i've tried.

wiel0059 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Another vote for Buff gloves as my 'favorite'. But, Glacier and Simms are very good as well. Any are better than a sunburn, IMO.

PAGreg Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I have the columbia gloves. Since I'm pretty much wearing sun sleeves everytime I'm wearing the sun gloves, I bought two pairs of the Cabelas Guidewear sun sleeves that cover the arm and hand down to the middle knuckle.
