Redtail Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 I just bought a Minn Kota 74lb thrust trolling motor that uses a 24 volt set up. Any suggestions on what type of batteries to buy. Thanks Quote
fishin_fool Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Batteries are like lures, a bunch out there just get the best you can for your budget Quote
jbh3 Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Dual Pro LS3100's if the budget can stand it. Group 31 Delco Voyagers next choice. Good luck! Quote
ernel Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 If you can afford the price tag go for the Optima serise. The glass mat batteries last longer and can withstand more charging cycles. If not, then I will say that Wal-Mart Everstart Max is a good choice also. Go with the biggest one that they have. It is $69.00 if I remember correctly. They are MFG by Johnson Control, which is the same company that makes Optima Batteries. I also have a 74lb Minn-Kota and can fish all day with plenty of power to spare. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Everstart Batteries are good, also if you have a local NAPA or a auto parts store they usually have good quality batteries. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Group 31 AC Delco Voyagers or Group 31 Minn Kota batteries are my choices. If I recall correctly the Minn Kota branded batteries are made by Trojan. JT Bagwell Quote
gamblerOH Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I've had really good service from my interstate group 31's Quote
squid Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Check out Deka Batteries..they last a long time on a charge. Or buy one of each...lol. I see there are a lot of good batteries listed on here...kinda like buying a boat huh? Squid Quote
