Super User iabass8 Posted April 20, 2016 Super User Posted April 20, 2016 if you tapped it out or pulled it out with a pliers, you can squeeze it in if you're careful by putting one end of the pliers on one end and the other end of the pliers just above the through hole w/o blocking it. wrap the pliers /w electrical tape for insulation. odds are you will bent, scratch or damage something continuing to do this. You should do yourself a favor and buy the hedgehog tool or boca pliers. It will pay for itself the second you think your clever and being cheap and damage the spool. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted April 20, 2016 Super User Posted April 20, 2016 some of the pins are tapered and have a narrow vs. thicker end! If yours is tapered be certain to start it with the narrow end. oe Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Unless you have a number of reels to service that justifies purchasing a specialized tool, I advise against removing spool minted bearings. Either clean them in place by blasting with a spray or dip them in a deep container. Or save the aggravation and send the reels out. 1 Quote
