Mainebass1984 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 The recent warm up this past week had the big fish slamming. My buddy Shane J and I caught a few lunkers on Saturday and then I went back Sunday to get a couple more. Water temperatures were 53 on sat and 55 on sun. Moving baits were working and big fish were biting ! Now is the time to catch big fish in the north east ! Get out there and fish ! 5-9 7-7 5-5 7-2 5-8 7-10 Rage tail swimmer and a deps side swimmer were working good ! Got the 5-9 on a senko. The only non moving bait big fish. Time to get out and fish guys ! Big fish are biting ! 12 Quote
desmobob Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Yessiree... the water has finally started to warm up! Water temps were up to 57* on Sunday afternoon in an area that I fished. I caught a whole bunch of bass and even got a little sunburn on my arms. After that first good day on the water, it sure is hard to go back to work during the week. :-( Tight lines, Bob Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted April 20, 2016 Super User Posted April 20, 2016 ? I spent 6 hours on Waller Mill Reservior in Williamsburg under nearly perfect conditions and couldn't buy a strike.... Congratulations on a great outing ... I should have gone NORTH instead of South... ? Quote

My buddy sold me the deps side swimmer I have real cheap. Nice guy. They are fish catching machines. The one I have is perch pattern and the bass love it. Quote

This time of year will be mostly from a boat, but I will pack waders just in case. A lot of the Susquehanna is wad able while it's down. Valley Creek is in Valley Forge/Phoenixville, so that's not crazy far. I don't have a boat or a kayak in the city, so I'm pretty limited down here. The plan is to pick up a Lure 11.5 or 13 within the next few months. I had back surgery last year and I'm still recovering, so my days of filling a backpack with gear and walking the banks all day are probably behind me. Where are you getting out? John Heinz? By the airport? Quote
Will Wetline Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 No surprise to see a bunch of hawgs from you guys! Well done indeed. Quote

Turkey sandwich Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Mostly northern pa. My parents live right by the Susquehanna. I'm still trying to figure out SE PA without a boat, lol. Quote
