kjfishman Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I would like to remind people about the importance of letting someone know where your going when you head out on the water. Last week I had a misadventure that could have gone badly. The water was too low to take the kayak from Indian Camp Creek to the confluence of Big Creek so I wore chest waders and head down towards Big Creek. The water got deeper in spots at the confluence. While walking in water less than a foot and on the edge of deeper water my right foot sank in the sand up to my knee and my left leg sank maybe 1/2 as much. Unable to pull either leg out. There was too much pressure to just pull my feet out of the waders. I tried digging the sand out from my right leg but it filled as fast as i could dig with my hands. Worked on the left leg and was able to get it free. After a couple hours help arrived and was rescued. I had my cell phone so I was able to call for help, if I didn't have my cell phone or was out of range it might have been some time before help arrived especially if I didn't let anyone know where I was going. 3 Quote

ClackerBuzz Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 glad ur okay. seems like many anglers have died or come close from their waders or hip boots filling up like buckets. my uncle has a very similar story. Quote
