Fished Sangchris Lake in Illinois this weekend. It's a power plant lake, so the water temps were around 65 and the bass were up on beds. Early morning I had a decent topwater bite going, caught 5 fish, one weighing in at 3lb 11oz. Once that died down the flipping bite was on. Bass were on almost any piece of wood or brush in 6' of water or less. Shady banks were the best. Mostly caught the aggressive males but I lost two nice ones to the laydowns. Definitely a great way to start the spring. The only lures I used all day were an Ima lures skimmer, and a Rage Tail structure bug.

Thanks! It was the first good flipping bite I've ever had. I think I'm addicted now :D

Good deal on the flipping bite. Wait til you catch it on a good day when the big ones are up, and every time you set it, your rod just stops.

I think my 50 plus per day  12-16" lake should be about due for a flippin bite this weekend.

Edit: I went and I "only" caught 37 actually

Love me some Rage Tail Structure Bugs!

I was hesitant to buy them first because of their price and they're not the most durable plastics. I'm starting to think that the extra $1.50 or so is worth it. The clamshells is awesome, I love how every bait is perfect coming out of the pack.
